Frank Richard Dubiel

Frank Richard Dubiel, 75, of Lafferty Ohio passed away peacefully on July 9, 2025, at Liza’s Place in Wheeling, West Virginia.

Born on July 20, 1949, a son of the late John T. and Matilda A. Mack Dubiel.

Frank spent his career as a coal miner with the Ohio Valley Coal Company at #6 coal mine, where he was known for his hard work and commitment to his colleagues. His love for the land extended beyond his profession, as he was an avid fisherman. When not fishing, Frank was an enthusiastic supporter of Cleveland sports, cheering on the Browns, Cavaliers, and Indians with unwavering loyalty.

Frank honorably served his country as a member of the United States Navy. During his service, he had the distinct privilege of serving on the Honor Guard at President Dwight D. Eisenhower’s funeral—an experience he held with great pride. His commitment to his fellow servicemen continued throughout his life as a lifetime member of the Lafferty Moose Lodge #1462, Flushing American Legion Post 366, and the United Mine Workers. He was also a member of the former St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Lafferty.

Frank is preceded in death by his parents, his brother Robert ‘Bob’ Dubiel, his maternal grandmother, Anna Mack and his dear fishing buddy Jeff Kirk.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Barbara Frollini Dubiel; his children, Sherrie (AJ Anskate) Wright, Amber (Rob Fuchs) DeMarchi, and Sloan Scott, who carry on his legacy of love and resilience. He also leaves behind his brother John (Patty) Dubiel, grandchildren, Daniel Shearer, Johnny Shearer, Paul (Ameera) DeMarchi, Dalton White, Josie DeMarchi, and Sierra Scott (Graham Stewart), great-grandchildren, Samara, Stetson and Summer DeMarchi as well as a sister in law, Janet Dubiel as well as several nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will be received on Sunday July 13, 2025 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm at CARE Funeral and Cremation Specialists, 204 West Main Street, St. Clairsville Ohio and again on Monday July 14, 2025 from 10am until time of funeral service at 11am. Interment to immediately follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lafferty Ohio.
