Two Nabbed in Malaga Township Raid

WOODSFIELD — Two Belmont County residents wanted on felony drug charges are now in custody after being located during a Monroe County drug raid.
According to Sheriff Derek Norman, detectives were alerted around July 3 to the possible whereabouts of Santana T. McBride, 38, and Jamie A. Cole, 50, both of Lafferty, Ohio. The pair were wanted on full extradition arrest warrants tied to various drug-related offenses in Belmont County.
Following an investigation into a residence in Malaga Township, the Monroe County Special Response Team executed a search warrant on July 15. Both McBride and Cole were found at the home and taken into custody without incident.
Deputies also recovered a bulk amount of suspected fentanyl and various drug abuse instruments from the property. The pair were booked into the Monroe County Jail, and the case remains under investigation.
Sheriff Norman praised the teamwork with Belmont County’s Criminal Interdiction Unit in a social media post stating, “If anyone has plans of coming to Monroe County to evade arrest, I would recommend that you find somewhere else to go.”
