Monday, July 14, 2025
7:38 am – vehicle lockout on East Main Street.
8:23 am – officer out with vehicles involved in an accident. Officer spoke to both parties and reported no damage.
11:26 am – caller from West Main Street reports her basement smoke alarm is going off and she is unable to see what’s going on because the trap door is stuck. She wants an officer to help find out the cause before calling the fire department. False alarm determined.
1:18 pm – traffic stop on North Chestnut Street.
1:53 pm – officer on High Street delivering an abatement notice.
2:00 pm – officer on North Street following up on abatement notice.
2:11 pm – officer on Carl Street following up on abatement.
4:14 pm – female at station wondering if we could run her OLN to see if she her license is still suspended. She was informed we can’t do the check but she can check the BMV website herself.
6:15 pm – investigate complaint on Henderson Street.
6:23 pm – caller on Railroad Street reports three juvenile females on electric scooters running the stop sign in front of him. Officer found the juveniles and instructed them to follow traffic laws.
8:55 pm – damage on private property on North Chestnut Street.
9:29 pm – females at station filling out private property report.
11:50 pm – caller from Mackey Drive requesting a welfare check.
Tuesday, July 15, 2025
5:14 pm – general burglar alarm drop at Barnesville Hospital. An employee didn’t turn the alarm off fast enough before entering the building.
8:33 am – person called in and I advised him the information was left on a note at the station. Officer speaking to involved parties.
8:54 am – officer out for follow up investigation on Morgantown Avenue.
9:42 am – officer attempted to contact person twice in reference to earlier call.
10:09 am – investigate complaint on North Arch Street.
5:53 pm – caller from West Main Street asking if an officer could help with a flat tire.
7:02 pm – officer out to serve notice on Wiley Avenue.
7:04 pm – caller made complaint of vehicles parking in the alley.
7:11 pm – officer out to serve a notice on North Lincoln Avenue.
7:22 pm – officer out to serve a notice on Louise Lane.
7:46 pm – officer out to serve a notice on Henderson Street.
8:11 pm – officer out to serve notice on North Lincoln Street.
9:03 pm – traffic stop on Fairmont Avenue. Officers discover an active Belmont County warrant for failure to appear for one individual. Female in custody with consent to search resulting in negative findings.
11:14 pm – traffic stop on East Main Street.
Wednesday, July 16, 2025
1:35 pm – traffic stop on North Chestnut Street. Driver cited.
3:54 pm – tree limb down on East Main Street blocking the lane. Street department notified, could not locate the tree in the surrounding area.
4:58 pm – medical emergency on East Walnut Street for unresponsive person. Transported to hospital.
7:44 pm – traffic stop on North Arch Street.
10:08 pm – investigate complaint on North Arch Street.
11:23 pm – officer out at Watt Avenue regarding a door in the middle of the street.
11:29 pm – caller from Pine Lane reports that while driving they could hear a lot of screaming coming from a residence. Officer reported to the area hearing no screaming.
Thursday, July 17, 2025
9:31 am – officer out on East Main Street to serve an abatement notice.
9:40 am – officer out to serve Mayor’s court notice.
1:12 pm – traffic stop on East Main Street.
1:22 pm – traffic stop on Sandy Ridge.
3:06 pm – person at station to report being scammed.
4:26 pm – employee of the Barnesville Hospital requesting officer’s assistance for a screaming patient causing problems.
Friday, July 18, 2025
6:57 am – reckless driver reported on Pike Street. Officer had negative contact.
10:53 am – caller from West Church Street reports a raccoon is sleeping on her front porch. She is unsure if it is sick. Officer put the raccoon down.
11:36 am – caller from West Church Street reports a bike was stolen overnight.
3:23 pm – three vehicles struck on North Chestnut Street.
4:23 pm – female at station asking if this is where she can get her license renewed. She was directed to the BMV on West Main Street.
4:53 pm – hang up call. Dispatcher attempted to call back twice but the phone rang busy.
7:28 pm – vehicle lockout on Waterworks Road.
8:45 pm – traffic stop on North Chestnut Street.
9:19 pm – welfare check on Woodland Avenue.
11:44 pm – female caller reports her carbon monoxide detector is going off.
Saturday, July 19, 2025
3:35 am – caller from Waterworks Road advising a lab is running around in the area. Owner now has claimed the dog.
5:10 am – employee from the Barnesville Hospital reports a patient is assaulting a staff member. Officer at the hospital to pick up statements.
1:08 pm – 911 hang up from Walton Avenue. Central reports there is an open 911 line with no one apparently speaking. No one appears to be at the house. Clear.
2:40 pm – caller wants to talk to an officer about an argument.
2:42 pm – vehicle lockout on South Garnder Street.
3:20 pm – follow up investigation on Captina Drive.
4:49 pm – person called in again with more information regarding the Captina Drive matter.
6:25 pm – caller from East Main Street reports a Honda is all over the roadway coming in from Bethesda. Cameras checked with negative results. Officer stated negative contact also.
7:48 pm – report of a vehicle on fire near Hendrysburg. Station 12 (Barnesville) enroute.
8:10 pm – caller from Pine Lane reports hearing a loud bang. Officer found nothing.
8:16 pm – Dispatcher notifies officer of a vehicle at the T-Ball field area of Memorial Park.
9:03 pm – Ohio State Patrol called requesting an officer assist someone on Route 147 south side. Vehicle ran out of gas.
11:38 pm – Ohio State Patrol advises BOLO for a red truck coming from Fairyland area toward Barnesville. Caller states truck is all over the roadway and almost striking multiple vehicles.
Sunday, July 20, 2025
9:39 am – central dispatch radioed elevator alarm at Barnesville Manor. Unable to contact anyone. Elevator seems to be fine with nobody stuck in it.
1:12 pm – caller advises a male at the park is handing out fliers regarding seatbelt safety.
1:24 pm – caller wants to know if we had her friend housed here. Advised we don’t keep people in our jail.
2:23 pm – caller from South Chestnut Street reports a white goat in Crestview Cemetery. Officer was not able to locate the goat.
3:58 pm – person returned call about the missing goat.
Editor’s Note: The goat apparently made its escape from Barnesville Livestock on Saturday. Several other social reports on the goat’s location were posted throughout the week. One person on McGhee Drive implored the public for help…the escapee was head butting the writer’s vehicles!
5:19 pm – traffic stop on South Chestnut Street.
7:38 pm – caller from Wiley Avenue states a person took keys and won’t give them back. and wanting to talk with an officer.
8:34 pm – caller from Captina Drive states the neighbor’s dog is biting and attacking his dog. Officer advised him to contact the animal shelter. Dispatcher notified officers that the dog warden secured the attacking dog at 9:18 pm.
