Western Belmont County excerpts from the Belmont County Sheriff’s Office Call Logs covering various dates from July 25 through July 30 are reported below.
July 25, 2025
3:34 am — Pleasant Ridge Rd, Bethesda. Kitchen door alarm was triggered at a residence. The alarm company called back and stated the proper passcode was given to cancel the call.
9:19 am — Flat Rock Rd (Somerset Twp.). Deputy went to the address for a follow-up to an investigation.
11:25 am — Belmont Morristown Rd, Morristown. Deputies went to Barnesville Hospital to investigate a child struck by a car at the 208 Fuel Plaza. Deputy requested Child Protection Services call and stopped at gas station to follow up.
8:08 pm — Rest Area, Eastbound Interstate 70. Deputy called to assist Highway Patrol unit. Drug abuse paraphernalia in plain view. Additional narcotics were found in a purse.
July 26, 2025
10:09 am — Pilot, Morristown. The caller reported an accident between two vehicles with minor damage. Drivers have already exchanged information. The call record will be on file.
4:17 am — Belmont Rd, Bethesda. The caller stated her husband came home drunk. Since he was causing problems, she would like him gone. The husband was inside the apartment gathering up his things to leave. The caller stated that there were no weapons. Two deputies arrived and were told by the caller that nothing physical occurred and no threats were made. She stated that she called 911 because her drunk husband would not quit being loud. The husband went to his father’s house for the night.
7:54 pm — Main St, Jacobsburg. Deputies investigated a verbal altercation. On scene, the deputy was told that a man was being verbally abusive and was asked to leave the residence. The deputies found the man in the backyard, and he said that he would leave. Deputies verified that the man had left.
10:25 pm — Main St, Morristown. The caller reported that a neighbor was setting off fireworks, which were scaring his horses. Deputies patrolled the area but found no signs of fireworks.
10:26 pm — Westbound Interstate 70, Belmont. The deputy conducted a traffic stop. The driver was the vehicle owner. A warning was issued for an expired tag.
10:52 pm — Westbound Interstate 70, Barnesville. The deputy stopped a vehicle going westbound past the 202 mile marker. A verbal warning was given for no taillights. The driver turned their lights on.
July 27, 2025
10:06 am — Walnut Lane, Jacobsburg. Central dispatch said that a 911 hangup call occurred in which they heard little kids talking. The responding deputy found that the kids were playing with the phone.
10:18 am — Sunshine Rd, Piedmont. An alarm went off at the main entry of a residence. When the realtor answered, they gave an improper passcode. A deputy responded and found that a realtor was showing the residence to a client. All was well.
7:29 pm — 208 Fuel Plaza, Belmont. The caller reported a suspicious man standing in the rain, staring into space. The deputies made contact with the man who accepted a ride to Gumby’s on Wheeling Island.
11:27 pm — Route 147, Bethesda. Deputies responded to assist in a pursuit started by Barnesville PD. Barnesville got the vehicle stopped a few miles outside of Barnesville.
July 28, 2025
12:38 am — Barkcamp State Park, Belmont. A caller reported that something was messing around the caller’s tent. A deputy assisted a State Patrol unit. Nothing was discovered.
8:10 am — Russell Long Run Rd (Goshen Twp.). The deputy drove to the address for possible damage to a mailbox and wall. When inspected, it appeared to have just fallen over, not struck.
11:05 am — Morristown Flushing Rd, Belmont. Deputies went to the address for a domestic complaint of a female trying to run over the male caller. The female tried to take off. There was a juvenile in the vehicle. Both were identified. A squad was called for the female who was cleared by the squad. Both parties stated that nothing physical happened.
12:16 pm — National Rd, Morristown. Deputies went to the address for a welfare check. A strong odor was coming from the trailer. The female left 2 days ago. She has a live-in son. The smell was from dog feces on the porch.
9:23 pm — McDonald’s, Belmont. A Penske rental truck had been parked in front of the gas station since approximately 2 pm. The driver stated that he was waiting for the next job. He agreed to move down to Love’s or Pilot.
10:03 pm — 2nd St, Lafferty. The caller complained that a neighbor was setting off fireworks. The deputy made the neighbor stop and informed them that they could set the fireworks off on Labor Day.
July 29, 2025
5:06 am — Barkcamp State Park, Belmont. Deputies assisted the State Patrol with a half-naked male, who was possibly under the influence, banging sticks together. The male was back inside the camper for the night.
7:12 am — Smith Township. The deputy went to assist the State Patrol with a suspicious male.
10:10 am — Belmont. The caller reported that two Belmont Academy signs were removed from various locations.
2:26 pm — Barnesville. Deputy served papers.
6:35 pm — Morristown. A male came to the station wanting to speak to a supervisor. A deputy informed him that the named deputy was not on duty but would give him the message.
7:34 pm — Lafferty. Deputy served papers.
8:00 pm — Morristown. The caller wanted to speak to a deputy about her neighbor’s vehicle in their own yard with flat tires. When the caller spoke to a deputy, they claimed that the truck was on the roadway. A deputy drove by the residence and noticed that the vehicle was clearly parked off the roadway. The neighbor said that she was in the process of moving out, and the truck would be gone by Friday.
July 30, 2025
11:35 am — Jerusalem. A deputy was assigned to investigate a sexual offense.
9:29 pm — Morristown. The caller reported two males wearing dark clothes and backpacks, lying in a shed. The deputy learned that the males are hiking across the country. The deputy gave them a ride to Love’s.
