Barnesville Man Apprehended Following High Speed Chase
WOODSFIELD – Monroe County Sheriff Derek Norman reports that Tuesday deputies and detectives with the Monroe County Criminal Interdiction Unit arrested Kenneth Carter, 41, of Barnesville following a traffic pursuit.
During the course of the pursuit, Deputies attempted to stop Carter in Malaga Township for multiple equipment and traffic violations. Carter failed to stop, subsequently leading Deputies into Belmont County. While pursuing Carter, he traveled at a high rate of speed off State Route 800 onto Mann Ridge and Holly Hill roads south of Somerton. Carter was later intercepted by additional units on Holly Hill Road near State Route 800 where he was taken into custody. Carter is currently being housed at the Monroe County Jail.
