The 2025 Captina Duck Dash Winners

On August 3rd, 336 rubber ducks took to the water of Captina Creek for the annual Duck Dash, which is a fundraiser for the Captina Conservancy. The raised funds go toward the general operating expenses for the nonprofit organization. JB Digital Media and the emcee Dimitri Vassilaros are compiling this year’s race video, which will be posted to YouTube in the near future.

Congratulations to the winners: First Place ($500) Mike Tarter, Second Place ($250) Brock Fowler, Third Place ($150) Cindy Knecht, Fourth Place ($100) Liam Yahn, and the Biggest Loser, lucky last place ($50) Nina Tavoletti.

Thanks again to the event’s sponsors: South Central Power, Raven Rocks, Inc., Village Hardware, Stream and Wetlands Foundation, Barnesville Rotary, Leslie and Dimitri Vassilaros, The Flower Gardens, Happy Tails Pet Salon, Ron and Carol Preston, and Bidenbach Surveying.

This event would not occur without the many staff and volunteers. The Barnesville High School Football Team helped herd the ducks. Dimitri Vassilaros was the emcee for the race. JB Digital Media caught all the action on video. Hannah and the Hooligans provided the music.
