Carol Ann Schumacher

Carol Ann Schumacher 87 of Woodsfield, Ohio passed away Wednesday August 13, 2025 at Stellar Care Center Woodsfield. She was born March 14, 1938 in Washington, D.C. a daughter of the late William and Neva Hartup Secrest.
Carol was a member of St. Sylvester Catholic Church of Woodsfield and had worked as a loan officer for the Woodsfield Savings & Loan/Woodsfield Savings Bank for over 25 years. She was a 1956 graduate of Woodsfield High School.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband William B. Schumacher, brother David Secrest, nephew Mark Secrest, and niece Theresa Secrest.
She is survived by her sons, Tom (Cindy) Schumacher and Stephen Schumacher (Kathy) both of Woodsfield, daughters, Jane (Jeff) Cox and Sally (Danny) Mummey both of Newark, Ohio, brother, R. James (Peggy) Secrest of Spring Hill, Florida, and sister Cathy (Dan) Thornhill of York, Maine, sister-in-law Donna Secrest of Woodsfield, 10 grandchildren, Ryan Schumacher, Rachael Tullius, John Schumacher, Lance Schumacher, Amy Damele, Kevin Cox, Mitchell Cox, Hannah Mummey, Joseph Mummey, and Shae Mummey, 8 great grandchildren, Billy, Seth, Clayton, Evie, Nolan, Dominic, Samuel, and Everett.
Friends will be received from 4 – 8 p.m. Monday, August 18 at Bauer-Turner Funeral Home, 100 S. Paul Street, Woodsfield, Ohio. A funeral mass will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, August 19, 2025 at St. Sylvester Catholic Church, 334 S. Main Street, Woodsfield, Ohio with Fr. Nicholas Ward officiating. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery. Vigil services will be held Monday evening at 7:30 at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Monroe Theater, 104 North Main Street, Woodsfield, Ohio 43793 where Carol had worked as a teenager and where she first met her husband, Bill.
