Western Belmont County excerpts from the Belmont County Sheriff’s Office Call Logs covering various dates from August 8 through August 13 are reported below.
August 8, 2025
11:20 am — Rest Area, Westbound Interstate 70. The Ohio State Patrol requested lockout assistance with a vehicle in which the keys and an animal were locked inside. The owner broke out the windshield instead of waiting for law enforcement.
5:27 pm — Belmont Morristown Rd, Belmont. A business’s alarm went off at the employee entrance. Everything was secure.
5:32 pm — West St, Holloway. A deputy investigated a noise complaint. The parties involved were going to put the dirt bikes away.
August 9, 2025
9:07 am — Love’s, Belmont. The caller stated her tractor-trailer was parked, and a white freightliner pulling a Standbox trailer struck it and then drove away. The responding deputy collected information for a report and faxed a request for video to Love’s Loss Prevention. The deputy called the company about the hit-and-run.
9:19 am — Depot St, Flushing. The fire department requested a deputy at a trash fire. The homeowner refused to come to the door. The fire chief will file charges and follow up.
1:43 pm — Rosemary Camp Rd, Flushing. The caller reported that the neighbor’s cows destroyed his garden. A deputy responded to take photos and information for a report.
10:22 pm — Clark St, Holloway. The caller advised dispatch of a small fire. The fire department requested a deputy to respond. The deputy stood by while the fire department extinguished the fire.
August 10, 2025
1:47 am — Clark St, Holloway. The caller stated that a maroon Dodge truck was doing burnouts and yelling out the window. When the deputy arrived, the vehicle in question was parked, and no one was around.
8:32 am — Columbia St, Fairpoint. There was a 911 hang-up call. Everything was okay.
11:00 am — Love’s, Belmont. The caller reported that a truck went over a hill. A deputy was dispatched to document the accident.
12:40 pm — Pilot, Morristown. The caller reported that two semis had struck. A deputy was dispatched to create an accident report.
12:41 pm — Ray Ramsey Rd, Jacobsburg. The caller reported a neighbor dispute over a side-by-side. They were advised that it was a civil issue, and the parties were advised.
August 12, 2025
1:14 pm — North 26 Rd, Goshen Township. The deputies were handling an eviction and lockout. The resident was allowed to get possessions from the driveway.
11:15 pm — Pilot, Morristown. A truck driver requested to speak with a deputy about very minor damage to his truck.
August 13, 2025
3:02 pm — Love’s, Belmont. A deputy conducted a registration check on an abandoned trailer to be sure it was not stolen. A towing company would be removing it from the lot.
9:14 pm — O R & W Station Rd, Jacobsburg. The caller stated that kids were messing with his car, causing the lights to go on and off. A deputy investigated the complaint by speaking with the neighbors who had not seen anything. The deputy attempted to make contact with the caller, but the call went to voicemail, which had not been set up yet.
9:22 pm — Washington St, Somerton. The caller stated that her ex had been kicking her and would not leave. A male was in the background stating that she had been hitting him and wanted to file charges. The deputy found the female unhurt, and she refused EMS evaluation. The female wanted the male to leave, and he agreed. Both refused to file charges. Both were told that they need a different arrangement going forward.
