Diesel Spill Closes I-70

MORRISTOWN – I-70 in Belmont County was shut down temporarily Wednesday morning following a crash between a commercial vehicle and a passenger vehicle that resulted in about 80 gallons of diesel fuel flowing across the highway.
At 6:59 a.m., according to Ohio State Highway Patrol officials, they were called to milepost 206, two miles east of the Morristown Interchange after a car collided with a truck that was pulled off the road.
The disabled commercial vehicle was on the shoulder with its safety triangles in place for move over. The passenger vehicle drifted across the edge line and struck the commercial vehicle near the fuel tank. No injuries were reported in the mishap.
The roadway was reopened after the clean up.
