Western Belmont County excerpts from the Belmont County Sheriff’s Office Call Logs covering various dates from August 15 through August 20 are reported below.

August 15, 2025

12:22 am — Palmer Road, Belmont. A suspicious vehicle was in the grass. The deputy found that a man was pulled over using his phone.

12:10 pm — Belmont-Centerville Rd, Smith Township. The caller and 2 other kids were looking for a missing 4-year-old. The child had been missing for 20 minutes, and they were unsure where he would go. The deputies checked and cleared the residence. Took the drone on Hart Rd and began a search. The child was located at 12:35 pm.

2:44 pm — Boardman St, Bethesda. A deputy went to the location to pick up reports for an investigation or follow-up.

3:01 pm — Pilot, Belmont. A deputy was at this site for a motor vehicle crash. The post was handling this call.

8:42 pm — O National-Oco Rd, Lafferty. A suspicious man was walking down the middle of the road, possibly intoxicated. Someone came to pick the man up.

9:14 pm — North 26 Rd, Bethesda. The caller reported a suspicious white car at a residence where no one is supposed to be because they were evicted. The vehicle left.

10:59 pm — Green St, Belmont. The caller stated that a neighbor was driving a skid steer on his property. The deputy advised the parties that it was a civil matter.

August 16, 2025

12:17 am — Mason Rd, Barnesville. There was a 911 hang-up call. The woman stated that it was a butt dial. When asked for her name, she hung up the phone. A deputy made contact with the woman, and everything was okay.

1:18 am — Pilot, Belmont. A semitruck backed into the caller’s semi. Information was taken for a report.

2:27 am — National Rd, Union Township. A deputy assisted the Ohio State Patrol with giving a man a ride to the county line.

3:48 am — Briar Hill Rd, Piedmont. Two deputies assisted the Ohio State Patrol with an incident involving a 31-year-old man who fell from the back of a moving vehicle. The man was seriously injured in the OVI incident.

8:53 am — Marina Rd, Freeport. Belmont County Deputies at Piedmont Marina for a search meeting related to a missing juvenile out of North Royalton, Ohio. US Marshals, Wheeling PD, Harrison County Sheriff’s Office, Muskingum Watershed, and Ohio Wildlife were also present. The last known location of the young person was in Harrison County. Three Belmont County Deputies searched the surrounding roads with no luck in finding the youth.

3:52 pm — National Rd, Bethesda. A juvenile assaulted staff, and a report will follow.

8:09 pm — Barnesville Bethesda Rd, Barnesville. A general motion alarm went off, and the key holder was 30 minutes from the location. A deputy arrived on the scene, and all doors were secure. When the key holder arrived at the location, it was confirmed that everything was okay.

8:40 pm — Barkcamp State Park, Bethesda. Four juveniles were lost on the Blue Trail at Barkcamp, The Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) requested assistance because they were at least an hour away. Two deputies responded while dispatch made contact with one of the juveniles by phone and gained knowledge of their location. The deputies went out to Lake Road and engaged their lights and siren. As the deputies entered the woods, the juveniles heard and saw the lights. A parent located the juveniles on the walking trail closer to campground B. Deputies found the group and escorted the parents and juveniles out of the woods. ODNR arrived and wrapped things up.

10:03 pm — Flat Rock Road, Barnesville. A deputy was advised that a man was unresponsive with agonal breathing. The Bethesda EMS and a deputy arrived on the scene. The man was now alert. The wife stated that he was highly intoxicated and had taken his nightly medications. She was unsure if he had taken any THC gummies as well. Bethesda EMS transported the man to WVU Barnesville.

10:20 pm — WVU Barnesville, Barnesville. Deputies were dispatched to meet a squad that was en route from McDowell Road with an unresponsive man. After the squad arrived, it was determined that it was an unknown medical issue. The ER was advised to notify the office if anything appeared to be narcotic-related.

August 17, 2025

12:57 am — Morristown Flushing Rd, Morristown. The caller reported that he was blackmailed into sending explicit photos via the internet. Upon speaking to the caller, he stated that he reported the webpage, and the site was taken down. No further action was needed.

12:15 pm — Mt. Olivett Rd, Barnesville. A man, who also had a buggy, was lying in the grass on Mt. Olivett Road. The deputy found that the man was traveling on side roads near the interstate from California to Washington, D.C. He was just resting.

4:06 pm — Main St, Jacobsburg. A neighbor called the caller, who was at the Red Devil Stadium, to tell him that two younger people had gone into the house while two adults waited outside. The homeowner wanted nothing done at this time.

7:30 pm — National Rd, Belmont. A deputy gave a presentation on policing to a youth ministry group.

9:04 pm — Barnesville Hendrysburgh Rd, Barnesville. The sheriff’s office assisted Barnesville PD on a traffic stop.

August 18, 2025

10:53 am — Duffy Rd, Piedmont. The caller wanted to know if his neighbor was allowed to set up a camera facing the township road. He was told that it was legal.

12:28 pm — N Main St, Bethesda. Deputies went to the address to assist the squad with an erratic male patient.

August 19, 2025

6:48 am — Flushing Township. The caller stated that someone slashed the tires on all three of her vehicles. The responding deputy took pictures and information for a report.

9:50 am — Washington Township. A deputy went to serve papers. He was told that he lives across the street in a camper. No contact was made.

10:50 am — Goshen Township. While conducting a wants/warrants check, the deputy made contact with the resident, and she stated that the person is not supposed to be there. A neighbor stated that a male matching his description visits often.

2:35 pm — Somerset Township. Deputies conduct a warrant check. There was no contact.

4:18 pm — Goshen Township. The 15th attempt to serve a misdemeanor warrant ended with the person being transported to jail.

5:40 pm — Washington Township. A deputy went to serve a warrant, but no contact.

6:37 pm — Murphy Rd, Flushing. The caller reported that he had received fraudulent merchandise for transport from a suspicious business. The items were purchased with a stolen credit card. The deputy advised the caller to contact the business where the items were picked up and tell them to contact the bank.

11:35 pm — Flushing Township. A 42-year-old man took an unknown pill thinking it was Tylenol. Narcan was administered twice. The man denied EMS and signed a release.

August 20, 2025

8:17 am — Clark/Morristown, Belmont. A deputy made a traffic stop. A warning was issued for an improper turn at an intersection.

8:34 am — Union Local High School, Morristown. The caller explained that a backpack was beeping, and he walked it to the middle of the baseball field. Everything was found to be okay.

9:46 am — Union Local High School, Morristown. The complainant came to the station to report a hit and run in the high school’s parking lot on August 19. A report was filed.

10:29 am — Smith Township. A deputy requested other deputies to attempt serving a felony warrant. No contact was made.

2:55 pm — Bond Ave, Barnesville. A deputy made a traffic stop, which resulted in a warning for marked lanes.

8:54 pm — Goshen Township. The caller stated that his dog locked itself in the truck. At 9:43 pm, the vehicle was unlocked.
