Samuel A Allar

Samuel A. Allar, 97 of Barnesville, Ohio passed away on Tuesday, August 26, 2025 at the Walton Retirement Home. Sam was born in Bethesda, Ohio on December 10, 1927 to the late Floyd and Edith (McEndree) Allar.


Sam was a graduate of Bethesda High School and was an Army veteran. He worked for several years as a Coal Mining Supervisor for various mines. Sam was a member of the Barnesville Masonic Lodge and the Sandy Ridge Church of Christ. Sam loved his music and riding motorcycles. He had a multitude of friends, he never met a stranger. He enjoyed going to McDonald’s every evening with the crew.


In addition to his parents, Sam was preceded in death by his first wife, Ruth Ann (Carpenter) Allar; grandson, Mark Moore; and granddaughter, Wendy Cline; and several brothers and sisters.


Sam is survived by his children, Cindy (Bob) Thompson; Sam (Kathy) Allar, and Kris (Jerry) Moore; grandchildren, Jim (Shelly) Thompson, Eric Cline, Bobby (Misty) Thompson, Cole (Courtney) Allar, Cory (Alicia) Allar, Clinton (Mariah) Allar, Matthew (Emily) Moore, Meliah (KateLynn) Moore; and several great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; sisters, Faith Morris and Judy Allar.


Honoring Sam’s wishes, cremation will take place with no additional services being held. Sam’s care is entrusted to Campbell-Plumly-Milburn Funeral Home, 319 North Chestnut Street, Barnesville, Ohio.
