Western Belmont County excerpts from the Belmont County Sheriff’s Office Call Logs covering various dates from August 22 through August 27 are reported below.
August 22, 2025
9:54 am — Union Township. A deputy went to an address for an abandoned vehicle in front of the house overnight. The vehicle description was a green Jeep Cherokee. The vehicle had no plates and damage to the rear end.
12:42 pm — Smith Township. A deputy went to an address for a 911 hang-up. When attempting to call back, there was static on the line, and it was busy. The person stated that they were having trouble with their landline, and this happens about once a week.
3:08 pm — Union Township. A deputy responded to an address for a complaint of someone vandalizing one of their machines. The caller had the incident on video and knew who did it. A report was taken.
3:12 pm — Somerset Township. A deputy responded to an address for a call about a man who needed to be removed from the house. The deputy found no signs of the man, so he must have already left.
7:50 pm — Union Local Schools, Morristown. A deputy escorted a person out of the game. While walking toward the gate, another man began to get confrontational. The man is now suspended from being on school grounds.
11:52 pm — Flushing Township. A caller stated that a person was outside next to a Jeep Grand Cherokee, yelling and screaming. A deputy patrolled the area but found no one yelling and screaming or no vehicle matching the caller’s description.
August 23, 2025
10:03 am — Warren Township. Barnesville PD requested assistance. Three deputies responded. A man with a warrant ran into a house, then exited, and left in a vehicle before abandoning it. Deputies were looking for a white male with no shirt and wearing blue shorts.
12:17 pm — Flushing Township. The caller requested a welfare check. The caller stated that the person wrote a note to her boyfriend, who is in prison, that she was going to kill herself. The previous night was the last contact that the caller had with the person. Deputies responded. The woman denied wanting to harm herself, and she will contact the worried caller.
1:52 pm — Flushing Township. The caller reported that his neighbor damaged his property while mowing his lawn. A deputy responded to take a report. When the neighbor came onto the caller’s property, he damaged his compost.
7:50 pm — Glenwood Village, Bethesda. The caller was reporting a physical altercation. Deputies responded, and a report was taken.
August 25, 2025
7:02 pm — N Main St, Bethesda. The caller stated that she could hear yelling and screaming, like people were fighting. The door at the back of the residence was broken, so a deputy entered. The crying woman did not answer the deputy’s announcements. Though the door appeared to have been broken from the outside, the woman had broken the door from the inside. A grandmother came to get the young granddaughter. The woman refused to provide any information and told the deputies to leave her residence. The deputies went outside. Child Protection Services was contacted. The woman was still not speaking.
August 26, 2025
10:51 pm — Bethesda. Deputies attempted to serve a misdemeanor warrant. A deputy advised that someone was sitting on the couch but would not answer the door. A woman was detained and mirandized. Another person was out of the attic and detained. Two suspects were taken to jail.
August 27, 2025
4:10 pm — Mile Marker 204, Westbound Interstate 70. A deputy was out with a disabled vehicle on the side of the road, waiting for a spare tire.
7:03 pm — Pfeffer Rd, Barnesville. While on the phone with her sister, the caller stated that she heard gunshots, and the line went dead. Four minutes later, the caller called back and stated that her sister’s boyfriend was threatening to pour gasoline on the ground and light the camper on fire with the woman inside. With Fire and EMS on standby, there was no evidence of the made threats. The victim did not want to pursue criminal charges.
11:50 pm — Warnock-Whitney Rd, Belmont. The caller requested a welfare check on her elderly father, who has health problems. Contact was made, and he was okay.
