Assumption Parishioners Picnic in the Park
The Barnesville Assumption Church held its parish picnic on Sunday, August 17, at the Barnesville Memorial Park in the Bunting Shelter House. Traditionally, the picnic happens on the Sunday nearest the Feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, August 15.
Before dinner, Father Dave Cornett and the parishioners celebrated Mass. Inside Out BBQ, owned by Al Logan, provided the meal. The menu included BBQ chicken, ribs, baked beans, and coleslaw. Picnickers brought an appetizer or dessert to share with others.
After dinner, the pool was open for families to swim and have fun in the water. Many people chose to enjoy the great weather and the social time together.
