Western Belmont County excerpts from the Belmont County Sheriff’s Office Call Logs covering various dates from August 29 through September 3 are reported below.
August 29, 2025
7:53 am — Commercial business near Morristown Exchange. Two vehicles were in a motor vehicle collision. A deputy responded to take information for a crash report.
10:11 pm — National Road, Morristown. The caller reported a suspicious vehicle with two people inside it. They had been parked there for the past 2-3 nights, sleeping in the vehicle. The responding deputy sent them on their way.
11:10 pm — Rice Avenue, Bethesda. There was a breaking and entering in progress. A car was in front of a house with all the doors open, and various tools were inside the vehicle. Two men ran into the woods. The deputy requested the drone from the St. Clairsville Police Department (STCPD). The door that was used to enter the last time had been opened again, as well as some windows. The STCPD located an extremely large heat spot with the drone. Both men were taken into custody and transported to jail. When one man was removed from the cruiser, there was a white substance that appeared to be meth.
11:10 pm — Bishop Rd, Belmont. The caller reported that she had been receiving threats of gun violence on Snapchat. The caller had made contact with the harasser’s sister, and the sister advised that her brother had possibly relapsed back into drug use. The caller did not want to do anything at this time, and the deputy patrolled the area for a while.
August 30, 2025
3:00 am — Commercial business near Morristown Exchange. A towing company requested that a deputy respond with them on Reco Road. A semitruck was attempting to turn around and struck some barriers. There was no apparent damage to the business’s property except for where the semi knocked over a concrete barrier. The business owner would contact the deputy if they need to file a report.
9:29 am — N Main St, Bethesda. The caller stated that a possible drunk man was sleeping by the tracks. The man was not drunk and was given a ride to Barnesville at his request.
10:15 am — Boston Rd, Barnesville. There was a 911 hang-up call with sounds like children on the phone. No one answered the call back. The deputy did not make contact at the residence. It appeared that no one was home.
12:48 pm — E Captina Highway, Alledonia. There was a 911 open call. When no one answered the call back, the deputy made contact in person and found that it was accidental.
7:55 pm — Pfeffer Rd, Barnesville. A deputy was dispatched to Barnesville ER for an assault that occurred outside of the corporation’s limits. The caller reported that his live-in girlfriend had assaulted him. Deputies and the Barnesville Police Department went to the residence, made the arrest, and transported the woman to jail. She was booked for domestic violence.
August 31, 2025
11:50 am — E Main St, Barnesville. The Barnesville Police Department advised that a male with a warrant was driving around the area in a black Subaru, possibly headed toward Belmont. The deputy located the vehicle abandoned at Dollar General. Barnesville Dispatch stated the male got into a grey Honda. Law enforcement located the Honda, but the male was not located.
1:56 pm — Barnesville WVU, Barnesville. A deputy assisted the Ohio State Patrol with a “pink slip,” which refers to an emergency hospitalization for individuals experiencing a mental health crisis.
2:52 pm — Mt Hope Rd, Flushing. The caller reported an alarm at a Lafferty social club. The deputy responded and spoke to the bartender, who stated that it was accidental.
4:10 pm — Mt Olivett NE Rd, Barnesville. The caller stated that his neighbor was outside calling him vulgar names. This is an ongoing neighbor dispute that has previously been forwarded to the prosecutor’s office. The caller wanted a record of the incident.
September 1, 2025
12:47 pm — Bill Moore Rd, Goshen Township. A deputy responded to a location where a male was reportedly throwing rocks and stuff at a vehicle. At 1:42 pm, the owners were advised not to throw things at vehicles. Nothing pursued.
1:55 pm — Love’s, Morristown. A deputy was at the location for a vehicle parked in the middle of the street. She was lost and got turned around.
September 2, 2025
1:21 pm — Denham Rd, Smith Township. Two deputies responded to the address for a complaint of a male on a four-wheeler on the caller’s property throwing rocks and mud at them. The male was gone when the deputies arrived. They took statements and photos. A deputy went up the road looking for the male but did not find him.
7:18 pm — 2nd St, Belmont. The caller reported that two people were driving past her house, and that these people were not to be around her or her son. The woman was advised to seek a Temporary Protective Order.
September 3, 2025
6:04 pm — E High St, Flushing. The caller reported that two suspicious men with yellow vests came in and out of the store, then from behind the building. The car had out-of-state plates. The deputy checked around the area upon arrival but made no contact.
