SR 379 Closes One Week Beginning Monday
NEW PHILADELPHIA – State Route 379 south of SR 147 west of Baileys Mills is slated to close again beginning Monday. This, along with other road projects in the Barnesville, Belmont County area, was updated and released Friday.
State Route 379 closure for slide repair: Starting September 8, State Route 379, south of Baileys Mills, will close for a slide repair project. Traffic will be detoured via SR 147 west to SR 513 south, SR 513 south to SR 146 east, SR 146 east to SR 78 east, SR 78 east back to SR 379, and reverse. The completion date is September 12, 2025.
State Route 149 nighttime traffic impact: From September 8 through September 10, ODOT’s contractor will work along State Route 149 under the I-70 overpass to complete utility work associated with the I-70/State Route 149 interchange improvement project. State Route 149 traffic will be maintained with flaggers from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. This work is being performed to finalize utility relocation plans for the interchange improvements.
I-70 nighttime resurfacing: Work will begin September 14 to resurface a five-mile section of I-70 located west of St. Clairsville. This work will take place during nighttime hours from 7:30 p.m. to 6 a.m. One lane of traffic will be maintained in both directions of I-70. The completion date is October 31, 2025.
State Route 147 upcoming closure west of Jacobsburg: Starting September 15, State Route 147 will close one mile west of Jacobsburg from Watt Road to Durigg Road for a slide repair project. Traffic will be detoured via SR 149 north to SR 9 south, SR 9 south back to SR 147, and reverse. The competition date is September 19, 2025.
I-70 nighttime resurfacing project: A project to resurface a five-mile section of I-70 from the Belmont/Guernsey County line to just east of the I-70 rest areas. The contractor will complete this work during nighttime hours. Lane closures will be utilized during construction from 7:30 p.m. to 6:30 a.m. The completion date is October 31, 2025.
State Route 147 resurfacing in Barnesville: A project to resurface a section of State Route 147 in Barnesville from East Main Street to Hilles Avenue. Traffic will be maintained with flaggers. This work is part of several resurfacing project in Belmont County and the overall completion date for all routes is September 30, 2025.
State Route 148 slide repair: A project to repair a landslide along the North Fork of Captina Creek located just north of Township Road 70 in Wayne Township. The width restriction is 10 feet. The completion date is October 31, 2025.
