Excerpts from the Barnesville Police log for entries from September 8-14 are reported this week.

Monday, September 8, 2025

5:28 am – officer on North Chestnut Street regarding a disabled vehicle. The vehicle was pushed into a parking lot.

11:20 am – caller states he got a text from the BMV saying he needs to pay or his license will be suspended. Also received a text for a toll booth payment. I advised that they are both scams.

11:20 am – male on station about receiving a text from the BMV. I advised it is a scam.

4:19 pm – female caller regarding her son who was threatened on the school bus today.

5:51 pm – person on station regarding threats.

6:47 pm – multiple alarms on West Main Street. Officer advised the security guard wasn’t given the correct code.

6:56 pm – caller from West Church Street about a male pressuring him into buying a discount through AEP. He made the person leave.

7:04 pm – caller from South Broadway Street regarding a solicitor that is heading toward Leatherwood. Officer out with that person and advised him that there is no soliciting in the village and he  would have to leave or be cited.

7:31 pm – person on station to follow up on threats.

8:30 pm – caller from Park Street regarding a solicitor that just left. Officer had no contact with the solicitor.

9:08 pm – caller from Grace Avenue about a solicitor. I advised an officer talked with him earlier but hasn’t made contact with him since. I advised the caller to call back if the solicitor is seen again.

Tuesday, September 9, 2025

6:06 am – officer on Bond Avenue about a semi-truck went down the wrong way and is likely stuck on the turn.

7:36 am – accident on East Main Street with property damage.

10:47 am – person on station wanting to talk to an officer about a parking situation.

11:34 am – EMS requesting traffic control on South Chestnut Street while they are on a medical call.

3:26 pm – caller states it appears someone keyed her vehicle today.

3:26 pm – officer advised a juvenile didn’t get off the bus at the correct stop. Juvenile is reportedly walking toward Beeology. Officer located the juvenile, and all is well.

4:09 pm – person on station regarding  scratches on a vehicle.

9:00 pm – caller from West Highland Avenue about a four- wheeler that pulled into the driveway and went into her garage. Officer spoke to the person, and all is okay.

Wednesday, September 10, 2025

7:09 am – caller from Shamrock Drive heard gunshots from behind the school. Officer on Pine Lane by the apple orchard and spoke with two males on a side by side. Officer spoke to a person on Fairmont Avenue. All is well.

8:12 am – officer on West Church Street for a traffic stop. Officer issued a citation.

9:06 am – officer on Clifton Street contacting vehicle owners asking them to move vehicles due to road work being performed.

9:13 am – officer on Franklin Street contacting vehicle owners asking them to move vehicles due to road work being performed.

9;45 am – investigate complaint on Cherry Street.

 10:32 am – caller from Bethesda needing to file a police report regarding a tenant next door. Call transferred to 911.

1:19 pm – officer on the 100 block of North Chestnut Street on a traffic stop.

2:43 pm – officer on Shamrock Drive on a traffic stop.

2:50 pm – caller from South Lincoln Avenue regarding debris in the roadway from paving on Clifton Street. Caller states that it is a mess and wants it cleaned up. Village Administrator advised.

7:33 pm – caller requesting a welfare check on a male at the first shelter house at the park. Caller said he has been there for about an hour and doesn’t know if he is sleeping. Officer made contact with the man and he was just sleeping.

8:35 pm – caller from West Church Street regarding a vehicle that was driving recklessly. Caller just wanted to make us aware of the vehicle.

10:04 pm – officer on south Route 800 in the area of Joe’s Tire on a traffic stop. Officer gave a warning for expired registration.

10:56 pm – caller from Vine Street regarding a call  to her sister of a suspicious person wandering around the street last night and tonight. Person was seen swinging on a neighbor’s porch swing. Officer had negative contact with the person.

Thursday, September 11, 2025

8:02 am – officer on North Chestnut Street on a traffic stop. Officer issued a citation.

8:14 am – officer on West Church Street on a traffic stop.

8:54 am – person on station to speak with an officer.

10:03 am – officer on West Church Street regarding a parking situation.

10:57 am – officer on West Church Street attempting to serve abatement paper.

2:29 pm – officer on West Church Street attempting to serve abatement paper.

2:44 pm – male on station regarding his truck mirrors that were hit on South Chestnut Street. Incident was recorded on village cameras.

4:10 pm – person on station regarding  a hit skip.

4:47 pm – person on station regarding a hit skip.

9:55 pm – 911 hangup from Bond Avenue.

Friday, September 12, 2025

2:46 pm – officer on West Church Street on a traffic stop.

3:04 pm – officer on Broadway on a traffic stop.

5:00 pm – officer on North Broadway Street regarding a parking complaint. Officer had negative contact with the vehicle.

5:05 pm – caller from Henderson Street about calling 911 about a female being physical with a juvenile. Both people left and officer had negative contact either party.

5:31 pm – officer on North Broadway Street regarding a parking complaint.

 11:04 pm – caller from South Chestnut Street regarding suspicious activity at the dumpster. He saw a car driving into the lot and threw something in the dumpster before leaving. Officer had negative contact with the person.

11:37 pm – person called back into 911 regarding what he saw. He didn’t wish to talk to an officer. He just wanted to reiterate what he related earlier.

Saturday, September 13, 2025

9:03 am – caller reports someone broke into her car at some point last night.

6:30 pm – caller from Pine Lane reporting a problem with a person coming onto her property and walking around her yard.

7:33 pm – officer on Pine Lane responded to the person in the prior log. The person agreed to not walk on the property anymore.

9:34 pm – officer on Laws Street to a warrant service.

11:39 pm – officer on East Main Street regarding a male sleeping on the bench at the overlook plaza.

Sunday, September 14, 2025

2:41 am – officer talking to a person on the side of the road. Officer gave the person a letter.

5:54 am – officer on East Main Street for a traffic stop.

7;54 am – male on station talking to an officer.

9:17 am – officer on North Broadway Street for a traffic stop.

10:11 am – investigate complaint on Warren Avenue.

10:36 am – Game Warden called regarding a possible injured bobcat between Roosevelt Road and Tacoma. He requested if found to please euthanize it. Negative contact with the bobcat.

12:05 pm – officer on Hall-Boston Road in Warren Township regarding a possible physical domestic issue.

5:39 pm – caller from Bernhard Street regarding the neighbors who are parking in the roadway again. Officer notified.

8:21 pm – caller from North Broadway Street reports her fiancé was doing roof repair and the ladder fell onto the neighbor’s car. They attempted to contact the neighbor but with negative results. They requesting an officer on the scene.

8:30 pm- caller from Pine Lane reports someone walked across her backyard. She called yesterday and states it was a female this time. Dispatcher received another call from another person related to this situation. Officer will respond.

9:38 pm – officer on North Broadway Street with statement forms and private property accident reports for roof repair ladder/car incident.
