Shamrock Friday Night Highlights

Barnesville’s Trey Toliver ran for four touchdowns Friday night at Monroe Memorial Park, Woodsfield, as the Shamrocks overwhelmed the Monroe Central Seminoles 48-7. The win was the school’s 41st consecutive regular season victory.
Toliver’s first touchdown came with just 28 ticks off the clock after Monroe Central fumbled the kickoff play.
Other Barnesville touchdowns included one by quarterback Cole Frances, Kolby Jones and Evan Carpenter.
Barnesville had 261 rushing yards, 171 passing yards for a total of 432, according to WBNV commentator Mark Brown.
Exchange student Luis Garcia continued a perfect stretch of PATs, notching six more. Last week, against Buckeye Local, he tied the school record with 8 PATs in one game. Read more about this unique kicker at Barnesville Area News.
The single Seminole touchdown came in the third frame with a run by Cooper Howell.
The halftime score was 34-0 kicking in the “mercy rule” running clock during the final two quarters.
The Barnesville Dairy Queen Player of the Game was the ‘Rocks quarterback Cole Frances while Barnesville’s Rocks Pizza selected Christien Hannahs as the Barnesville Defensive Player of the game and Lucas Stiver the Monroe Central Defensive Player.
Next week Barnesville will likely have a more difficult time as they host the George Washington High Generals, a much larger Charlestown, WV, school that is the equivalent of an OVAC 5A team similar in size to Wheeling Park.
The state-ranked Generals are 3-0 on the year. Friday night, they beat South Charleston 55-7.
