Equipment Purchase Funded by Grant
Barnesville Hospital was awarded a grant from the South Central Power Company Foundation, allowing the hospital to purchase a Butterfly iQ3 Ultrasound Probe and Cart.

According to a release by the hospital, “this advanced tool is now being used in both our Emergency Department and Med-Surg units, helping our nurses and physicians provide faster, more efficient care. From guiding IV placements to performing bladder scans, the Butterfly iQ3 allows our team to deliver accurate results quickly—improving comfort and outcomes for our patients.”
Team Recognized during Environmental Services Week

WVU Medicine/Barnesville Hospital honored the EVS team at Barnesville Hospital this past week.
The release noted “your hard work and dedication create clean, safe environments for patients, families, and staff”.
National Rehabilitation Awareness Week

This past week, WVU Medicine/Barnesville Hospital recognized “the dedication and compassion of rehabilitation professionals who help patients overcome challenges, rebuild strength, and reach new goals”.

“Mind Matters – Empowering Healthy Minds for Stronger Leaders”, a program delivered at Barnesville High School, was presented recently by Chase Watts thanks to WVU Medicine/Barnesville Hospital and Southeast Healthcare recently.
The program encourages students to care for their mental well-being including these points:
- Mental health matters just as much as physical health
- Everyone experiences highs and lows—it’s part of life
- Asking for help is a sign of strength
Watts said when we prioritize mental wellness, we build confident, resilient leaders for tomorrow.
