Sixty years ago this week, fire destroyed the five-year old Elby’s Big Boy Restaurant on Route 40 in Morristown.
When the embers cooled, the parent company, Boury’s, chose not to rebuild at that location that would, in time, be bypassed by the new I-70 highway.
Instead, the owners chose to build a new structure at the intersection of Banfield Road and I-70 east of St. Clairsville.
