Following the death of Dr. Benjamin Mackall in 1935, the large two-story Federal-style house at the northeast corner of East Church and Chestnut streets was demolished and replaced by a Standard Oil of Ohio, later Sohio, gasoline service station (Barnesville’s 200 Years, 2008, p. 172).
And, yes, early on, the rear of the service station lot was also home to a miniature golf course as noted by this score card. Interesting that the card features female players! (photo, Bruce Yarnall collection)
