Barnesville Chamber Welcomes New Board Member Susan Lapham
The Barnesville Area Chamber of Commerce welcomes Avenues of Barnesville and Blue Moon Tavern owner Susan Lapham as a new board member.
Lapham grew up in Barnesville and graduated from The Ohio State University. After graduation, she moved to Texas but returned home in 2002 spending much of her time each year in Barnesville.
Lapham said she always likes to promote Barnesville in whatever manner she can and hopes to bring creative ideas to the village.
“I like to come up with all kinds of things that we can do,” she said. “We’re one of the best hometowns in Ohio. I think it’s really cool.”
Lapham believes the Barnesville State Theater is going to be a huge asset to Barnesville, becoming the cultural hub of the village where live performances, plays, movies, banquets and more will take place.
But she said Barnesville could use a coffee shop, more restaurants and other attractions.
Lapham loves Barnesville because of the people. She described the community’s citizens as friendly, generous and always there for one another, from cheering on hometown teams to giving selflessly to those in need. She added Barnesville feels like one big family.
Lapham is joining the board along with Dr. Zachary Leach of the Barnesville Vision Center.
“We’re thrilled to welcome Susan and Zack to the board,” director Jill Hissom said. “Both bring incredible experience, business insight and fresh ideas to the table. Their enthusiasm and vision will be a great asset as we continue to grow and move our organization forward.”
Other current Chamber board members are John Rataiczak, president; Jake Hershberger, Larissa Jones, Christopher Baker and Kyle Wojtasek.
