Sewer Work Severs Railroad-Mulberry Crossover
Monday begins the third week the Railroad and Mulberry streets crossover located between J-Mo Meats and the Barnesville Depot property, will be closed.
Employees of Ackerman Construction are installing a new sewer service line connecting the collector line along Railroad Street to the deeper line near Mulberry Street that was placed in 1923 when the town’s original sanitary sewer system was developed.
According to Mayor Jake Hershberger, ground over the line serving homes built on the property of the former Lotus Glass Company factory, had settled to the point gravity flow was no longer working.
The new line will reestablish proper gravity flow.
