Barnesville Man Charged with 11th OVI
ST. CLAIRSVILLE — A Barnesville resident has been charged by the Ohio State Highway Patrol for operating a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol and or drugs for the 11th time.
At 11:57 p.m. Nov. 1 on Township Rd. 89 in Wayne Township, Belmont County, Douglas R. Johnston, 49 years of age, was involved in a motor vehicle crash. During the investigation, troopers observed signs of impairment and subsequently placed Johnston under arrest for operating a vehicle while impaired.
Johnston faces charges that include failure to control, driving under suspension and operating a vehicle while impaired.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol encourages the public to continue to reporting impaired drivers and suspected drug activity using #677 or 911.
