Key Club Week: Celebrating Student Community Service

“When people hear the words ‘BHS Key Club’, I want them to think community,” states Key Club Advisor Corey Powell. This year’s Barnesville High School Key Club has 200 active members. Last year, the club was the 5th largest in all of Ohio with 183 members.

Key Club Week was November 3-7, 2025. The week was an opportunity to show communities that Key Club is all about: service. The mission of Key Club is “an international, student-led organization that provides its members with opportunities to provide service, build character and develop leadership.”

Barnesville Key Club serves its community throughout the year. Various organizations are grateful for these young people and what they do to serve their community.

BHS Key Club members are led by strong leadership from advisor Corey Powell. “Corey is a wonderful example of servant leadership (like Jesus),” said Dawn George from BAMA. She continued, “When he took over the club, he also showed up and made sure things were running smoothly, not only to oversee his students, but he led by example.” Instructional aide Adrienne Burkhart also assists with the Key Club.
