Barnesville Bands Performed Christmas Favorites
On December 16, the Barnesville Performing Arts presented the second performance of the winter concert series in the BHS Auditorium. This event included the beginning band, intermediate band, and chamber band. Mr Devin Blair directed the bands.
The beginning band began the concert with the following selections:
- Jingle Bells by J.S. Pierpont
- My Dredyl (traditional)
- Up on the Housetop (traditional)
- Jolly Old St. Nick (traditional)
The intermediate band continued with these festive pieces:
- Christmastime Is Here by Michael Sweeney
- White Christmas by Michael Sweeney
- Last Christmas by Chris Bernotas
The chamber band finished the concert by performing these songs:
- Three Minute Nutcracker by Tchaikovsky
- Sleigh Ride by Michael Story
- Santa the Barbarian: Snowpocalypse by Standridge
The final chamber band song featured Mr. John Rataiczak, local bank manager and “voice of the Barnesville Pumpkin Festival Parade”, as the Santa narrator.
