Enterprise Album
A mere 99 years ago, Americans were mostly enjoying the “flapper era” and spending money as if there were no tomorrow. Little did they know what was ahead in October 1929.
Teenage boys and young men in that time enjoyed merriment at the expense of older, or more sober, residents who turned in before the bewitching hour of midnight.
The Atlas (Boston) correspondent to the Barnesville Enterprise made note of the occasion January 7, 1927, when she wrote, “the boys here made a lot of racket bidding 1926 farewell and welcoming 1927.”
