Schafer Concludes 32-Year Career with ODOT

MORRISTOWN – Ohio Department of Transportation District 11 representatives, state and local government officials, co-workers, family and friends gathered to honor Bethesda resident Doug Schafer upon his retirement as Belmont county director for ODOT operations.

Schafer was appointed to his position 32 years ago in 1993 during the Governor George Voinovich administration.

In an official District 11 Facebook social media post, an ODOT spokesperson wrote ” Dave has dedicated 32 years of service to ODOT, leaving a lasting legacy through his positive leadership, infectious personality, and genuine care for both his colleagues and the community. We deeply appreciate his sincere commitment to public service and the impact he has made throughout his career”.
