Belmont Tourism GAP Grants Available
Press Release
ST. CLAIRSVILLE – The Belmont County Tourism Council Board of Directors is pleased to announce that the annual Grant Assistance Program (GAP Grant) is now accepting applications for 2026. These grants help “fill in the gap” by financially assisting non-profit organizations with events, projects, improvements, or maintenance to a tourist attraction or historical site that enhances travel and tourism in Belmont County.
“Many of the recipients would not be able to continue with their community event or attraction if it weren’t for this grant,” said Jackee Pugh, Executive Director of Belmont County Tourism Council. “Last year, the Tourism Board was able to award grant funds totaling $110,000, and we can offer that amount again this year,” she added.
Local non-profit organizations may apply for the grant, but to qualify, the event or attraction must generate tourism in Belmont County. Applications have been mailed to previous applicants, but are also available online or can be picked up in the tourism office located at the Ohio Valley Mall.

“We are accepting applications until March 6th,” Pugh said. The board will review all applications, and grants will be awarded to qualifying recipients by March 31st. “Our office looks forward to this time every year, and we are certain that Belmont County’s non-profit organizations appreciate it as well,” Pugh said.
The Belmont County Tourism Council’s mission is to attract visitors to the area by promoting our events, attractions, and unique experiences. We are optimistic about the future of Belmont County and looking forward to all the upcoming events happening right here, in friendly, beautiful Belmont County.
A downloadable copy of the grant application is accessible online at the Tourism website. For more information or any questions about the GAP Grant, give us a call at 740-695-4359.
