The Quaker Kitchen Opens
Shawn and Savannah Conrad have reopened a local eatery with a new name in their hometown, offering a diner-style restaurant option for the Quaker City community.
The Quaker Kitchen officially opened Dec. 5. 2025 at 201 Pike St. Savannah Conrad said the turnout since opening has been strong, and the community response has been positive.
Savannah worked as a general manager for a restaurant covering two locations in Zanesville and Heath in 2021, reaching 70 hours of work a week and wanted a change, she said.
The couple purchased Brown House Pizza and Nature Shack in 2021. Three years later, they added Valley View Gas Station to their business portfolio, all in Quaker City.
After several years operating the pizza-focused business, the Conrads felt it was time to expand with a full-service diner.
This past year, the former restaurant location came on the market. They purchased it in October completing renovations in time for a December opening.

The Quaker Kitchen’s menu includes meatloaf, sandwiches, fries, biscuits, salads, chicken wings and other items. The full menu is available on the business’s Facebook page where daily specials and more information may currently be found. The owners are currently finalizing a website for the business.

The restaurant is open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. seven days a week and is closed on Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas. The restaurant’s phone number is 740-679-7111 for take out orders. Online ordering is also possible through the businesses Facebook page.
Savannah said meeting the needs of the local community has been a priority for all of the couple’s businesses. Having a pizza shop, a grocery store/gas station, and now a restaurant located locally means residents no longer have to travel so far for everyday things.
She added she’s interested in watching the business grow during the summer months, noting the Quaker City area attracts more visitors than many people realize because of its proximity to Seneca Lake and others nearby including Salt Fork State Park.
In addition to the busy schedule maintaining four businesses, Savannah also serves Quaker City as one of six elected council members.
With an excellent wait and prep staff, a strong menu, and good customer service, Savannah said the couple’s primary goal at The Quaker Kitchen is to serve all customers with good, quality food!
