Monday, January 26, 2026

8:39 am – officer on East Church Street regarding a male using a snow blower blowing snow into the roadway. Male was advised of the complaint.

9:49 am – caller asked for a plow truck to come after he dug out of his driveway. Caller advised to call the Street Department.

9:59 am – officer on Mt. Olivett Road for a vehicle lockout.

11:44 am – caller from West Main Street reports a silver Dodge driving around the Dominos area almost striking people. Driving is erratic. Now headed south on Broadway. Officer had negative contact.

Tuesday, January 27, 2026

10:05 am – caller states she has an aide that comes seven days a week. The aide can’t find a parking space in the area. Caller asked if police could help her out. She was told there is nothing we can do to help out. She then asked if police would give a ride from Save A Lot. Department is not a taxi service.

11:38 am – officer on East Main Street near the Dairy Queen for a traffic stop. Citation issued.

1:34 am – officer on South Chestnut Street near Village Hardware for a traffic stop. Citation issued.

3:18 pm – officer on South Chestnut Street for a vehicle parked to close to the roadway. Officer advised owner to move the vehicle and to update vehicle registration.

4:15 pm – caller states two rabbit beagles got out and if anyone happens to call about them to contact her. At 5:08 pm, the dogs were home.

6:51 pm – officer on South Chestnut Street instructing that a car be moved.

9:39 pm – caller from East Main Street report he took his dog outside and he thought he heard screaming.  Officer reported that all is good.

11:36 pm – officer on East Main Street for a traffic stop.

Wednesday, January 28, 2026

6:06 am – alarm drop at East Main Street at rear basement door. Officer reported all is secure.

8:09 am – officer on North Chestnut Street near Library Annex for a traffic stop. Citation issued for expired plated.

10:39 am – 911 called and advised a person has an inside waterline break and is trying to get help. Water department called.

 11:26 am – caller states they have a court order for visitation and another party has the child and is refusing to bring the child back. Caller advised to file a civil report for contempt of the order.

3:00 pm – caller from North Lincoln Avenue requesting snow be removed near the alley. It is difficult to get out. Advised to contact the Street Department. Information was also forwarded to the Street Department.

3:30 pm – officer on North Broadway Street for a warrant service. Three people were detained. One male is in custody and headed to Belmont County Jail.

5:02 pm – lady found a dog in Walgreen’s parking lot. Owner showed up and claimed dog.

5:32 pm – officer on North State Route 800 for a vehicle accident. Second officer is riding with the emergency squad and will follow the squad to the hospital.

6:47 pm – received call from a female that was advised by Belmont County Sheriff’s Department concerning court ordered visitation to call Barnesville PD.

9:07 pm – caller from Franklin Street regarding a fight that occurred at a residence on Sandy Ridge. As officers were heading to Franklin Street, the person came in to the office with visible injuries, a victim of assault. Emergency squad called.

11:39 pm – officer is escorting a person to his home to secure personal belongings.

Thursday, January 29, 2026

10:31 am – alarm drop on South Chestnut Street. The silent motion alarm has been acting up of late.

2:49 pm – semi blocking the roadway at Family Dollar.

2:40 pm – officer on East Main Street for a traffic stop. Driver was cited for DUS/warning for expired registration. Owner of vehicle is on the scene and will take possession of the vehicle.

5:44 pm – officer on East Main Street near Riesbeck’s for a traffic stop.

8:44 pm – officer on East Main Street near McDonald’s for a traffic stop. Citation issued for a headlight.

10:05 pm – officer on Shamrock Drive near the Barnesville High School for a traffic stop. Warning given for no headlight.

Friday, January 30, 2026

2:25 am – officer on Westview Drive regarding a suspicious person, whom the department previously dealt with..

9:46 am – person called to see if we could contact a person on West Walnut Street to notify of a brother passing away.

10:21 am – Alarm drops at Elementary School and 911 Call from school alarm on second floor  reports an intruder on that floor (school closed for weather). Officers dispatched who discover male in sweatpants in the third grade hall with no visitor pass or apparent reason to be in the building. This was a drill only exercise.   

10:27 am – caller asked if we would check the cameras on our rear parking area from Wednesday night. When he left work, he noticed lug nuts were loose.

4:59 pm – caller from Waterworks Road reporting a van parked on the side of the road. Unsure if someone is in it and is concerned about the driver’s welfare.

6:34 pm – Radio call from Central dispatch that the driver of a truck is traveling at a high rate of speed and is blowing larges amount of smoke on Barnesville-Hendrysburg Road.  

8:40 pm – officer on East Main Street near Cheffy Drugs for a traffic stop. Drugs.

Saturday, January 31, 2026

3:33 am – caller from North Broadway Street reports his neighbor has him blocked in. Caller needs to leave for work. Officer on scene at 3:53 am.

12:47 pm – caller reports someone is shoveling snow by fire hydrant and on his property. He doesn’t want the person to shovel the snow.

7:19 pm – officer on South Street for a vehicle repo. Owner was not aware of the repo.

8:40 pm – caller reports a vehicle on North State Route 800 coming towards Barnesville. The vehicle is swerving and driving all over the roadway. The vehicle is noticed on the camera in the parking lot opposite the municipal building. Officer states the male wasn’t slurring speech. He had maps pulled out and is here to visit a friend.

Sunday, February 1, 2026

12:02 am – officer at the Memorial Park investigating a person that broke into the bathroom and is sleeping inside. Officer didn’t find the person but the lights were on in the bathroom. Officer turned off the lights and will return later.

12:30 am – officer on East Church Street with a female in his car. He contacted the family and is transporting her to Baily Road.

3:46 am – officer at the Barnesville Hospital checking to see if a male that took off from a vehicle crash on National Road is there. Male was located.

9:51 am – reports of a possible water line break near the Barnesville Hospital.

10:16 am – reports of discolored water on West South Street.

11:17 am – male on station reports his mother-in-law is blocked in on South Chestnut Street. There is a U-Haul and a car blocking the alley.

2:15 pm – caller reports there is a new red truck that keeping dumping trash into their dumpster. She did approach the driver, but he would not speak to her and left.

4:38 pm – officer on Leatherwood Road near Kaplet’s Drive-In for a traffic stop. Consent to search permitted. Negative on search.

8:43 pm – report of an expired deer in the middle of the roadway on South Chestnut Street near Crestview Cemetery. Deer removed.
