Shamrock Athletics Week of Feb. 2-7

The “Milk Truck Meet” between Barnesville and Union Local was canceled thanks to the recent storm that nixed the meet. At Steubenville this past week, the makeup match resulted in the Barnesville Boys taking the title while the Union Local Girls won the girls’ match.

Monday, February 2

Girls Varsity Basketball

Barnesville – 61, Harrison Central – 38

 Junior High Boys Basketball

7th Grade: #1 Barnesville – 47, #5 Bellaire – 15

8th Grade: #3 St. Clairsville – 47  #2 Barnesville – 30

Barnesville 8th grade boys finish the season 8-7.

Tuesday, February 3

7th Grade Girls Basketball – Buckeye 8 South Championship

Union Local – 33, Barnesville – 30

The 7th Grade Girls team end the season 17-1.  

Varsity Boys Basketball

Caldwell – 68, Barnesville – 38 

JV Boys Basketball

Caldwell – 57, Barnesville – 50

Wednesday, February 4

Varsity Wrestling

Shamrocks – 44, Monarchs – 18

At the meet, “all Barnesville Youth Wrestlers were admitted free. At the conclusion of wrestling, Shamrock wrestlers signed autographs and posted for pictures with fans,” Barnesville Shamrock Athletics.  

8th Grade Girls Basketball – Buckeye 8 South Championship

St. Clairsville – 34, Shamrocks – 23

The 8th grade team ends the season at 15-3  

7th Grade Boys Basketball – Buckeye 8 South Championship

Cambridge – 36, Barnesville – 29

The 7th grade team ends the season 12-4

Varsity Bowling

Boys: Barnesville – 2303, Harrison Central – 2049

Girls: Harrison Central – 1798, Barnesville – 1682

Thursday, February 5

Varsity Girls Basketball

Barnesville – 52, Weir High – 37

Saturday, February 7

Swim Team – Steubenville Invitational

Barnesville Boys team came in third out of 10 teams. Barnesville Girls team came in third out of nine teams.
