Karen Sue (Sturgill) Gallagher

Karen Sue Gallagher, 71, of Barnesville, Ohio passed away at Wheeling Hospital on February 13, 2026.  She was born on July 12, 1954 to the late Karl and Betty (Morris) Sturgill.

Karen graduated from St. Clairsville High School.  She graduated from Ohio University with a Bachelor’s Degree in English.  She was a substitute teacher and a stay-at-home mom.  She enjoyed collecting dolls and watching Christmas movies on the Hallmark Channel.  She was a cat lover and a good friend.  She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Wilfrid James Gallagher.

Left with loving memories are her two sons, James (Crystal) Gallagher, Thomas Gallagher (Amelia Holley); grandchildren, Christopher Gallagher, Khloe Gallagher, Nakita Gallagher; brother, William (Doty) Sturgill.

A celebration of Life is being planned for a later date.  Wilson Funeral Home, Barnesville Chapel, 702 East Main Street, Barnesville, Ohio 43713 is honored to assist the family.
