Area Scouts Mark Girl Scout Week

Barnesville Girl Scout Service Unit 205 is celebrating Girl Scout Week, March 8-14. The Unit is made up of six Girl Scout Troops that meet in Barnesville and Beallsville.
Barnesville troops meet at the First United Methodist Church thanks to the generosity of the congregation.
Cadette Troop 10124




This group of girls are 7th grade students at Barnesville Middle School. Leaders of the group are Rana Anderson, Laura VanFossen and Jamie Lucas.
Members include Taryn, Maggie, Brynlee, Lynnlee, Skout, Rylee, Alivia and Gwen.
Fun visits for members included Aire Beauty Bar in Barnesville, Wheeling Ice Skating, Oglebay Festival of Lights and creating charcuterie boards with Grazing Goddess owner Kristy Anderson.
Community service projects for the Troop included hosting the middle school Halloween dance, Hosting Breakfast with Santa, Valentine Wooden Rose sale, Assisting with Santa the Sprint Toy Drive.
Cadette Troop 10292

This Troop is made up of 6th grade students at Barnesville Middle School.
Leaders of the group are Kim Young and Carissa Allen. Members are Vonn, Kaitlyn Y., Kaitlyn H., Mallory, Brianna, Campbel and Adele.
Currently working on earning cadette level badges, the girls volunteered for Storybook at the Park for Barnesville Hutton Memorial Library last October.
Junior Troop 10397

The two leaders of Junior Troop 10397 are Tia Detling & Kim Young
Members include Vada, Maely, Bradlyn, Ava, Brynnlee, Hazel, Leona, Reagan, Sadie, Cianna, Kylie, Paityn, Addy, Lylly and Ensley.
Fun events for the Troop this past year included the Cambridge Courthouse Christmas light display, visiting a horse stable and a group Christmas party.
Brownie Troop 10482

Brownie Troop 10482 leaders are Natalie Anderson, Deanna Moore and Shannon Phillips.
Members include Sadie A., Morgan, Rylee, Adaleigh, Madison, Jordan, Sadie S., Alaina, Jerilyn, Finley, Paisley, Harper, Piper, Lydia S., Kinsey, Bridgett, Hayzel, Lydia L., Lennix L., Keonna, Rose, and Jovi
Fun visits for the group this past year included a Grinch Party, Christmas caroling at Emerald Pointe, Giacinta’s and winning Second Place with their “Brownies in Winter Wonderland” float in the 2025 Barnesville Christmas parade.
Community Service projects for the group include caring for flower beds in downtown Barnesville, and making homemade cards for 15 boxes of cookies sent to members of the military.
Daisy Troop 10624
Daisey Troop 10624 is led by Christa Ruckman. Members of the Troop are first graders at Barnesville Elementary including Jentri, Isabella, Linden, Lucille, Everlee, Odessa and Hailey.
Beallsville Troop 51007

Beallsville Troop 51007 is led by Danielle Huntsman and Rebecca Milosavljevic.
The group is a multi-level Troop of 11 girls consisting of Daisies, Brownies and Cadettes, ranging in age from kindergarten to 6th grade.
The Troop participates in several community service projects each year. The next project is creating birthday kits to donate to local food pantries, a project the group has taken on for several years running to mark Girl Scouts Week.
At Christmas, the girls decorated residents’ doors at an assisted living facility.
For fun, the Troop enjoyed an ice-skating party in February and is currently looking forward to an overnight trip to the Good Zoo.
Members are busy earning badges including Daisy Petals, Brownie Five Senses along with Cadette budgeting and & public speaking. Also planned is work for a citizen scientist badge that involving Monarch butterflies.
The leaders note they “welcome girls next year in the First Grade up who are willing to come to meetings in the Beallsville area.”
