Water Department Valve Work Impacts Service/ Traffic

The Barnesville Water Department is currently working on a valve replacement project on East Main Street at Grace Avenue, according to a release from the Village of Barnesville.

Work got underway yesterday afternoon and will continue today. Temporary traffic lights are set up on East Main. They will remain in place until Monday allowing for the repair as well as the concrete patch to cure. During this time, Grace Avenue residents may use the parking lot at Wilson Funeral Home to access their homes.

Water will be shut off for this repair affecting East Main Street from Warren Avenue to Bethesda Street, Warren Avenue, Bell Street, Locust Drive, Grace Avenue, Cedar Avenue, Oak Street, and Maple Avenue.

Once repairs are complete and water service has been restored a 48-hour boil order will be in place for anyone losing water pressure or service entirely. Water should be vigorously boiled for at least one minute prior to human consumption or dental hygiene use. Residents may also notice discoloration and should be cautious with laundry.

The Barnesville Water Department apologizes for any inconvenience that these water line repairs may create for our customers.
