Belmont Savings Bank Welcomes Rick Courts
Rick Courts is Belmont Savings Bank’s new Barnesville branch manager. He officially joined the team March 19.
Courts is a graduate from the former Guyan Valley High School in Huntington, WV. He attended Marshall University and graduated from West Liberty University with a bachelor’s degree in liberal arts, specializing in music and business.
Courts brings almost a decade of banking experience to Belmont Savings, having previously served as a branch manager at two other institutions.
“I had a little bit of exposure to the Barnesville community in a previous job,” he said.
The Wheeling resident also worked as an optician for 35 years and owned Court’s Optical in Wheeling, W.Va.
As branch manager, Courts said he prioritizes customer service, focusing on educating and guiding customers in areas including savings and lending.
Courts emphasized Belmont Savings Bank aims are to meet customers’ needs while growing its presence in the local business community.
“We’re really customer-focused,” he said. “We want to take part in the community.”
He added the bank offers low to no fees accounts, making it appealing options for customers.
“The overall culture of the bank is outstanding,” Courts said. “The biggest draw for me is that it’s locally owned, and decisions are made right here in Belmont County.”
Courts said the Barnesville community has been welcoming. “It’s a great town. The people are nice. It’s a close knit community.”
“The staff here is great,” he said. “Everyone is from Barnesville, so they know their customers, they know the community, and they take pride in that.”
