Neva J. Burkhart

Neva J. Burkhart, 85, of Temperanceville, Ohio passed away on Thursday, March 26, 2026 at The Enclave of Cambridge. She was born on April 17, 1940 in Barnesville, Ohio to the late Fred P. and Garnet I. (Stephen) Stephens.

Neva loved spending time with her family. She enjoyed reading and gardening. She was a former head of housekeeping for the Barnesville Health Care Center.

In addition to her parents, Neva was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Edward Burkhart; and daughters, Sherry Lee Burkhart and Deborah Jo Leach; brothers, Kenneth (Barb) Stephens, Samuel (Sandra) Stephens; sisters, Betty (Floyd) Finnicum and Janet Stephens.

Neva is survived by her daughter, Patricia Riemenschneider; son Charles Michael (Shannon) Burkhart; grandchildren, Derrick Leach, Misty (Jaime) McKelvey, Codey (Jessica) Leach, Wade Riemenschneider, Jenna (Sam) Bartola, Tyler (Kirsten) Burkhart, Dylan Burkhart, and Makayla Burkhart; 11 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; brother, Larry (Sue) Stephens; special friend and sister-in-law, Kay Burkhart; and several nieces and nephews.

Honoring Neva’s wishes, cremation will take place with no additional services being held. She will be laid to rest beside her husband, at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery, in Batesville, Ohio. Neva’s care has been entrusted to Campbell-Plumly-Milburn Funeral Home, 319 North Chestnut Street, Barnesville, Ohio.
