Thomas Richard Neely
Thomas Richard Neely, 77, of Millersburg, Ohio, went to be with Jesus on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, with his loving wife and daughter by his side. He was born on May 31, 1948, in Barnesville, Ohio, to the late Theodore and Janet Toohey Neely.
Tom was a 1966 graduate of Barnesville High School. He enjoyed working alongside his brother, Steve, at Cumberland Trail Tile, where he was known for his artistic craftsmanship. Tom loved his family and cherished time spent sitting around a campfire with friends. He enjoyed listening to music, playing his guitar, fishing, and being out in nature. He was affectionately known as “Papa” to his grandson, whom he adored.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Steven James Neely.
Tom is survived by his loving wife, Gayla (Kinzy) Neely, whom he married on June 16, 1984; his daughter, Erin R. (Phill) Schau; his beloved grandson, Phillip William Thomas Schau; his brother, Jack (Pattie Schreiber) Phelps; sister in law, Maureen Neely; and his best friend, Doug Fisher.
A memorial service will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family, with burial to follow at Crestview Cemetery.
Tom’s care and arrangements have been entrusted to Campbell-Plumly-Milburn Funeral Home, 319 North Chestnut Street, Barnesville, Ohio.
