Shamrocks Top Warriors 8-6

OLD WASHINGTON – Buckeye Trail tied the game in the 6th inning at 6 runs each at Old Washington Saturday with a single by Ela Patterson, and a triple by Jersey Eddy. Barnesville pulled ahead with two runs in the 8th to win the game, 8-6.   

In the final frame, Roselyne Anderson doubled to center field and Emma Swan singled to center, each scoring one run for the win.

The Shamrocks got on board in the first frame when Mariah Schaffer doubled, scoring two runs.

Barnesville added one run in the third.

Buckeye Trail tied the game in the bottom of the third inning, 3-3,thanks to a ground out by Kayla Hinkle, a fly out by Ella Ashby and an error.

In the top of the fourth, Barnesville broke the tie on an Anderson grounded out, scoring one run. That was followed by a double from Abygail Ady extending the lead to 6-3.

Ella Betts managed the mound for Barnesville seven of eight innings allowing six hits, striking out seven and walking seven. Anderson came on in the eighth, earning the win for the Shamrocks.

Barnesville collected 13 hits in the game and stole four bases in the contest.
