Shamrocks Blast Bellaire 24-2
BELLAIRE – Barnesville erupted for 12 runs in the first inning Monday night, doubling that in the next four claiming a 24-2 away victory over the Bellaire Big Reds.
Bobby Thompson (2-0) easily controlled the mound allowing just two hits, striking out nine and walking just one.
Offensively, the Shamrocks logged 12 hits in the blowout win.
The victory raises the varsity record to 4-1 for the season. They return to action at 5 p.m. on Wednesday at home in a Bellaire rematch.
Junior Varsity Bested by John Marshall
The Shamrocks Junior Varsity team was defeated 10-1 Monday night at home by the John Marshall Monarchs.
The loss drops their record to 3-2 for the season. They will return to action Wednesday evening at Steubenville.
