Community Improvement Corporation of Belmont County Presents Online Program
The Community Improvement Corporation of Belmont County has partnered with the nonprofit, Create Our Future, to bring a new online program focusing on strengthening small communities.
The program, “The Ripple: Small Town Edition,” is designed to teach participants how to “be the ripple in your small town.”
The program focuses on how small, consistent positive actions can create meaningful change within a community.
Organizers are seeking participants who may not typically serve in formal leadership roles, including volunteers, parents, grandparents and business owners.
Participants will receive access to a $139 monthly subscription that includes short videos and worksheets designed to be completed at their own pace. Weekly Zoom meetups will also be available, allowing participants to share experiences and connect with others from small villages across the United States. Sessions will be recorded for later viewing.
A limited number of grants are available to cover six-month subscriptions for residents in southwestern Pennsylvania (Allegheny, Fayette, Greene, Washington and Westmoreland counties), northeastern Pennsylvania (Bradford, Centre, Clinton, Lycoming and Tioga counties), northern West Virginia (Doddridge, Harrison, Marion, Marshall, Tyler and Wetzel counties) and eastern Ohio (Belmont and Monroe counties).
Funding for these grants is provided by the EQT Foundation.
Interested individuals can email Crystal Lorimor, executive director of the Community Improvement Corporation of Belmont County, at lorimor@belmontcic.com to request a coupon code.
