Lady Shamrocks Roll On
Barnesville – 7, Shenandoah – 3
The Lady Shamrocks were hot in the bottom of the first inning with a Peyton Loudin triple scoring two runs, and an Aubrey Johnson single, scoring another on Tuesday evening .
Barnesville added to the early lead in the second inning. Emma Swan doubled down the left field line and Ella Betts singled to center field, each scoring a run. Score 5-0.
In the third the ‘Rocks added one run on a Sophie Carpenter fly out.
Betts earned the win for Barnesville surrendering four hits and two runs over three and one-third innings, striking out three and walking two. Loudin pitched three and two-thirds in relief, allowing three hits and one run with two strikeouts. Loudin also provided a pop-up in the middle of the lineup resulting in two runs batted in.
Allison Crum first worked the mound for Shenandoah. She gave up nine hits and seven runs over five innings, striking out two and walking one.
Addy Harbaugh, Crum, and Josie Hooks each drove in one run for Shenandoah. Crum led Shenandoah with two hits in four at bats.
Barnesville – 6, Bellaire – 4
A rematch of Monday’s game against Bellaire Big Reds, that the Shamrocks won 5-4, was a repeat win at Barnesville Memorial Park Wednesday evening, 6-4.
Both teams scored all of their runs in their first three times at bat.
A home run to center field by Addison Kovach gave Bellaire the lead, 4-2, in the top of the third.
Barnesville regained the lead, 6-4, in the bottom of the third thanks to singles by Peyton Loudin, Sophie Carpenter, and Roselyne Anderson.
Peyton Loudin pitched the full game striking out eight. On the offensive side, she drove in two Barnesville runs. Hits by Ella Betts, Sophie Carpenter and Roselyn Anderson knocked in runners.
