Excerpts from the Barnesville Police Department log from August 4 through August 10 are reported below.

Monday, August 4, 2025

8:48 am – officer out on North Chestnut Street in regards to a traffic stop.

10:07 am – officer out at Domino’s lot in regards to a vehicle crash.

11:00 am – caller from East Main Street asked if he could park on the sidewalk for 2 days while the landlord repairs the driveway. An officer couldn’t give permission but if it becomes an issue the officer would notify him.

11:46 am – caller in regards to a vehicle crash at the Walgreen’s parking lot. I advised both parties to come to the station to fill out a report.

11:59 am – officer out with a disabled vehicle on South Chestnut Street.

12:05 pm – caller from Shamrock Drive asking if the street department would pick up a dead raccoon off of her neighbor’s property. I advised the caller that the street department couldn’t do it.

12:58 am – person from Railroad Street in regards to chickens being up in the trees. Person afraid the chickens are going to get hit when they fly down. I advised the officers.

2:32 pm – an employee from a business advised that someone backed into her vehicle in the lot. I advised her to come to the station to fill out a report and she can speak to an officer.

2:38 pm – officer out on Walnut Street in regards to a traffic stop.

2:43 pm – officer out on West Main Street issuing a parking ticket citation.

4:48 pm – caller from West Main Street requesting to see if an officer can check on a male that is walking up the street with a walker. Officer states the male is fine and he will be giving him a ride home.

6:35 pm – person from Pine Lane called in to regards to a fight that is verbal not physical. Officer separated both parties.

11:23 pm – officer out on Wiley Avenue in regards to a vehicle lockout.

Tuesday, August 5, 2025

2:04 am – caller from West Church Street in regards to runway or unruly children approximately 3-4 years old. The children are running around outside and don’t see any parents. An officer spoke to the mother and cleared the scene.

10:25 am – Ohio State Patrol called and requested if a Barnesville Police officer could stand by for a 2 vehicle crash on Sandy Ridge Road until they arrive on the scene.

10:38 am – postal employee brought in a black and white terrier found running loose on Main Street. I placed the dog in a crate in the police garage. She is going to post a picture of the dog on face book.

12:05 pm – caller from West Church Street in regards to a vehicle parked within 5 feet of his driveway.

3:01 pm – female caller had an accident in July and the other party didn’t have insurance. She was wondering what to do about this situation. I advised her to file a civil case against the other party and contact an attorney.

3:45 pm -caller from Sycamore Street requesting a squad for a psych issue.

5:13 pm – officer on North Chestnut Street in regards to a vehicle lockout.

6:53 pm – caller from South Gardner Street requesting an officer in regards to the neighbor’s dogs defecating on their property and not cleaning it up. Caller advised they confronted the dog owner and they were cursed out. Officer took information for a report.

8:10 pm – caller from Sycamore Street in regards to a male being combative again. Caller requesting an emergency squad for a psych issue.

8:44 pm – 911 transferred a call from a person from North Chestnut Street stating that her daughter was at the park and was assaulted by another girl. I advised them to come to the station. While on the phone with them, I received another call in regards to this situation.

11:44 pm – males on station in regards to items that were seized from them. Items were released back to each person.

Wednesday, August 6, 2025

9:48 am – female on station for an officer to talk to her child in regards to keeping their seat belt on.

9:55 am – person on station in regards for a property maintenance complaint on Pine Lane. I advised I will have an officer check on it.

10:18 am – officer on Pine Lane in regards to a property maintenance complaint.

1:43 pm – officer out at the Manor regarding to a smoke alarm activation. Officer spoke to the resident who was cooking and burnt the food.

6:40 pm – officer on South Chestnut Street in regards to a traffic stop.

9:30 pm – caller from East Main Street in regards to a truck that is parked in her driveway and a person is walking around her house with a flashlight. She is currently not home and saw this on her camera. Officer made contact with the person and they are moving the truck.

 Thursday, August 7, 2025

1:19 am – caller from Henderson Street in regards to a lady screaming for help.

9:34 am – officer at the Medical Center for a vehicle lockout.

10:01 am – vehicle accident in front of Hissom’s Gas Station.

12:32 pm – parking complaint on North Arch Street.

4:51 pm – vehicle accident on East Main Street and will need an officer to help with traffic. Officer issued a citation.

Friday, August 8, 2025

1:22 am – officer on St. Patricks Alley requesting the K9 unit and the squad for a person having difficulty breathing. Officer cited the driver for an expired plate.

8:59 am – caller advising a metal water pipe sticking up out of the street just short of Beeology’s east side. I advised the water department.

11:10 am – officer on East Main Street in regards to a traffic stop.

11:38 am – 911 received a call advising of an accident. I checked the cameras and an officer checked the area and had negative on any accident.

12:29 pm – officer on East Main Street in regards to a traffic stop.

1:20 pm – caller in regards to the laws of scooters and skateboards. Caller has noticed several riding in the street and not wearing helmets. Officer took the call.

2:08 pm – caller in regards to a truck passing on a double yellow line on State Route 147 east and heading towards Barnesville.

2:08 pm – officer on East Main Street in regards to a traffic stop.

2:11 pm – I attempted to get plates for a vehicle but the computers are down. I will get online and check if the plates are valid.

6:46 pm – 911 transferred a caller in regards to an accident at the Barnesville Park. The accident is at the exit of the park and North Chestnut Street. I advised officers it is a private property accident and have both parties come to the station for an information exchange.

7:24 pm – caller from West Main Street in regards for the last 20 minutes that people have been shooting off guns near the wood line behind West Main Street.

7:24 pm – individual on station wanting to talk to an officer. The officer will be on duty tomorrow dayshift and I will leave a note for the officer.

8:00 pm – female on station needing to talk with an officer about a possible domestic situation.

8:02 pm – person on station requesting a welfare check on South Broadway Street.

8:35 pm – caller states it is the 3rd time she has called us. She states a person will be leaving her house drunk in the next half hour. She states she lives outside the corporation and that he will be traveling down Wright Road. I advised she needs to contact the Belmont County Sheriff’s department. She was upset by this.

9:19 pm – caller states that he was out at the park earlier for vacation bible school event. He had a black nylon bag in his vehicle that contained his wallet and a pistol. He states he can’t find the bag and believes someone might have stolen it from his vehicle. I will check the camera footage to see if anyone entered the vehicle.

9:38 pm – officer on Fair Street in regards to the previous call.

10:09 pm – officer on East Church Street in regards to a traffic stop. Officer gave a warning for a headlight out.

10:41 pm – person called back and advised he found his missing bag. He misplaced it and all is well.

10:43 pm – officer on East Main Street in regards to a traffic stop.

11:13 pm – officer on Bailey Mills/Route 147 in regards a traffic stop.

11:39 pm – officer on East Main Street in regards to a traffic stop. Officer gave a warning for a headlight out.

11:57 pm – officer on the bottom of Route 800 in regards to a traffic stop. Everything checks out okay.

Saturday, August 9, 2025

2:28 am – officer on West Main Street in regards to a traffic stop.

3:11 am – officer on Route 800 in regards to a traffic stop.

8:29 am – male on station speaking to an officer about a raccoon stuck in the recycling bin at the Watt Center.

3:34 pm – caller asking if cell service was out in town. I advised AT&T is having service issues.

3:35 pm – female called needing a welfare check on a person. She doesn’t know where he lives, possibly in the Belmont or Bethesda area.

3:39 pm – caller asking how to get his tool box back from a person. I advised it would be a civil issue.

4:16 pm – officer on Pine Lane in regards a wellness check. Officer advised everything is okay.

6:04 pm – male on station looking for his wallet. I advised him it wasn’t here and would contact him if it is turned in.

9:00 pm – officer on South Broadway Street in regards to a traffic stop.

9:15 pm – officer on East Main Street in regards to a traffic stop.

9:30 pm – officer on Bond Avenue in regards to a traffic stop.

9:40 pm – caller requesting a wellness check on her son that lives in Bethesda. I transferred the call to 911.

9:50 pm – person called requesting a squad in regards to a male having chest pains. I transferred the call to 911.

9:54 pm – male near the Corner Pharmacy having chest pains.

11:41 pm – officer on South Chestnut Street at Flag Floors in regards to a broken window. Officer advised everything is okay.

11:55 pm – caller from Pine Lane stating they will have the car moved tomorrow.

Sunday, August 10, 2025

1:42 am – caller from South Lincoln Avenue stating she doesn’t have a key to the apartment. She was wondering if an officer can get her in the apartment. Officer on scene and clear.

2:35 am – officer on West Main Street in regards to a traffic stop. Officer gave a warning for a headlight.

5:52 am – caller was at a friend’s house and police picked him up and wants him returned home.

8:29 am – residential burglar alarm drop on Pine Lane. I had negative contact with the keyholder. Everything is fine.

11:04 am – pedestrian at the Dairy Queen was struck by a vehicle. The child is up and walking around and the child was on a E-Bike. The child is no longer there.

11:46 am – caller from Park Street stating that he is unable to get out of his driveway. Cars are parked in the no parking area at the football stadium. I advised an officer.

11:58 am – child from the bike accident on station and is okay. He does have a bruise on his leg.

12:32 pm – a 911 hangup call from Sleepy Hollow Drive. It sounds like a butt dial upon calling back and had negative contact.

12:32 pm – caller from Sleepy Hollow Drive in regards to vehicles blocking the fire hydrant and parking on the curb and in the yard. Caller wanting to know if something can be done about this situation and also states it’s a big mess down at the football stadium.

1:30 pm – female on station completing a report and wanting to speak with an officer about harassment. I advised an officer.

1:57 pm – caller from Park Street regarding he can’t get his car out of his driveway due to cars parking across the street in the no parking area. More cars showed up that don’t have tickets on their cars. I advised an officer.

2:11 pm – 911 hangup showing from the south end zone at the football stadium. Open line.

5:16 pm – 911 called stating Monroe County called them stating there is a possible intoxicated driver in a truck. I advised an officer.

7:47 pm – caller from Neva Avenue regarding an air BNB he owns. He states the people were supposed to be renting it this month, and he was saying things are missing. Homeowner did a walk through and all is well.

9:21 pm – officer on North Route 800 in regards to a traffic stop

9:58 pm – officer on West South Street in regards to a traffic stop. Officer gave a warning for trailer lights.

10:12 pm – kids on station dropping off trash they found on the street. I asked them if their parents knew about them being out and about. They answer yes and I advised them it’s nearly curfew and they should start heading home.
