The first Barnesville Shamrocks Team to win every game in the regular season was in 1936 when they were also co-champs of the Eastern Ohio Athletic League.
Will they go undefeated in regular season play in 2025? Only time will tell. The team’s first game will get underway at Shamrock Stadium Friday night at 7 p.m. when the Fort Frye Cadets invade Barnesville.
Barnesville High School’s football teams have had several undefeated regular seasons, including three perfect 10-0 seasons in 2022, 2023 and 2024.
Additionally, the 1967 team went 10-0 and finished ranked fourth in the state, while the 1992 team achieved a perfect 10-0 regular season and earned their first OHSAA playoff berth, finishing with a 12-1 record. The 2006 team also went 10-0 and won two playoff games, ending the season with a 12-1 record.
