Thomas Hayest

Thomas Andrew Hayest went to be with Jesus on Wednesday, August 20th where he received a new body in the light of his Savior.

Tom was born in Wheeling, West Virginia, and grew up in Cadiz, Ohio, to a loving mother and the father of a coal miner. After retiring from Navy intelligence, Tom worked as a corporate engineer in telecommunications for nearly 35 years, including at Northern Telecom and Verizon Wireless. Tom enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, traveling with his family, and fixing things around the house where he adamantly believed all home projects could be done with duct tape and tie-wraps.

Those still waiting to be called home with him include his wife Brenda Bell Hayest, daughter Allison Nicole Brooks (Kyle Brooks), daughter Andrea Loren Brooks (Colin Brooks), and grandchildren Carol and Juan Brooks. Tom is now reunited in Heaven with his family that are believers, including his mother Florence “Bo” Edna Hayest and Father Henry Walter Hayest.

Tom’s sacrificial life was an inspiration to everyone who knew him. He was radiantly adored by his wife and daughters who were his sole focus during his earthly life. There was nothing he wouldn’t do for his family.

Though Tom was a strong Navy veteran, Star Trek lover, and Flyers fanatic, he is known best to his family as the most loving husband and caring father anyone could ask for. Tom came to know his Savior in 1993 followed by believers’ baptism, and his faith in Jesus was evident throughout his life. He often said the gift of eternal life was “just so unbelievable”.

Praise God for Tom. The Lord in His timing has made all things new.
