Barnesville Shamrock Athletics Last Week

Football
Following Barnesville’s drubbing of Wheeling Central Catholic 43-14 at Wheeling Thursday night, the Shamrocks return home Friday for Homecoming. Barnesville led 14-0 at the half before pulling away in the last two frames.
The Linsly Academy Cadets of Wheeling will invade Shamrock Stadium. Linsly is 1-4 on the year losing to Westinghouse, St. Clairsville, Steubenville and New Philadelphia. Their sole win was a lopsided victory, however, routing the now 3-3 Brooke Bruins by a score of 42-0

At the Division II District Golf Tournament at Eagle Sticks, Zanesville, the
Shamrocks finished 5th with a team score of 311.

Barnesville won in two sets over Indian Creek 25-20, 25-9.

JV & Varsity Volleyball results vs. Wheeling CC.
The JV team lost in two sets while the varsity squad lost in three.
Jr. High Volleyball results vs. Harrison Central.
The 7th Grade won in two sets, 25-16 and 25-10.
The 8th Grade also won in two sets, 25-10 and 25-6.
October 2
District Competition at Harrison Central, Cadiz.
The Junior Varsity squad won in two sets, 25-14 and 26-24.
The Varsity won in three sets, 25-19, 25-10 and
25-11.
Jr. High Volleyball results vs. Woodsfield.
7th Grade wins in 2 sets 25-5, 25-21.
8th Grade loses in 3 sets 20-25, 25-19, 21-25.
7th Grade finishes regular season 15-0 & the 8th Grade finishes 11-4.
October 4
Buckeye 8 (South) 7th Grade Volleyball tournament results from Saturday
Game 1- UL defeats Cambridge in 3 sets.
Game 2 – Barnesville defeats UL in 2 sets.
Game 3- Bellaire defeats Martins Ferry in 2 sets.
Game 4 – St. Clairsville defeats Bellaire in 2 sets.
Barnesville will play St. Clairsville Monday,10/6, at 6:00 PM.
Cross County
October 4
At the OVAC Cross Country competition at Cambridge, the high school girls came in 4th in Division AAA. Addy Reed came in 10th. The boys came in 6th overall.
