Write-In Votes Will Decide Barnesville, Bethesda Council Races
Update (11/5/2025 at 9:56 AM): Belmont County Board of Elections officials expect to have all write-in and provisional ballots counted by Noon. Later today or tomorrow morning at the latest, final “unofficial results will post to the BOE website. Final votes will be certified at a special meeting of the board on November 12.
Update (11/5/2025 at 9:50 AM): A change was made to this article to correct the Bethesda Village Council Candidate to Jay Van Horn. I had been incorrectly published as Jerry Van Horn.
Daybreak Wednesday morning came with the winners of the Barnesville and Bethesda village council races hanging in the balance.
In Barnesville 563 write-in votes remain to be reviewed and in Bethesda, the number of write-in votes cast were 126.
Both area television stations and the county daily newspaper have called both races based solely on the candidates whose names appeared on the ballot.
Barnesville Area News will update this article as soon as additional information is released by the Belmont County Board of Elections
