BHS Freshman female swim team member Liv McCrate broke her own new record set recently for the 100M Breaststroke. Her new record is 1:14.63 breaking her old record of 1:14.99.
McCrate’s fetes garnered her a shoutout by the Times Leader newspaper last week when she was selected as one of two Student Athletes of the Week.
At the St. Clairsville Invitational this past weekend, the Barnesville Boys 200M Medley Relay Team set a new school records of 1:55.64 breaking the record set in 2009-2010. Members of the team are Levi Geiger, Antoni Scheurle, Maddox Whaley and Conner Starr.

Coming in second for boys was Union Local while Harrison Central came in second for girls’ competition.
High School Boys and Girls Swimming
At the St. Clairsville Invitational held in Wheeling this past week, Barnesville’s combined team came in 4th with 61 points. The boys team claimed 4th place with 34 points while the girls came in 5th with 27 points.
A total of 13 schools participated in the event although not all schools took part in both divisions.
Varsity Wrestling
Wednesday, December 18: Varsity Wrestling dual results from Wheeling Park. Barnesville –
54, Wheeling Park – 20.
As one of its last official sponsorships, the Barnesville Kentucky Fried Chicken Restaurant sponsored the Barnesville Duals completion this past weekend.
The Shamrock Duals saw the local grapplers go 2-3.

Awards, Honors and Recognitions
At the WTOV-TV 9 Bordas and Bordas Football Awards Program in Wheeling Thursday night, one of the six Barnesville candidates scored a win. Marshall Meade was named a “Defensive Blocks of Granite” awardee.
The following Varsity Shamrocks made the All-OVAC Football Squad: 1st Team: Casey Carpenter, Bradley McIntire, Marshall Meade, Luke Taylor, Trey Toliver Honorable Mention: Salvador Almaraz, Camden Carpenter, Hines Ford.
For a second year in a row, the Barnesville football team has been recognized as an Academic All-Ohio Team in the state of Ohio. Named Individual Academic All-Ohio Team members were
Luke Taylor, Camden Carpenter and Evan Lough.
