Going Out of Business Sale Underway

The owners of the Raven Pickers, 134 W. Main Street, have established regular hours as they sell off stock and go out of business.

Hours are Thursday and Friday, 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. and Saturday 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.

The business is an antiques and collectables collector’s paradise and a good place to find that special gift for the upcoming holiday season.

“Almost all antiques and vintage” stock in the store is offered at half off while crystal, sage, handmade items and everything else is 20% off regular price.

Additional photos of items offered are posted on the store’s Facebook Page.

Margo and James Bygrave, owners of the business, are also interested in selling the building. It is a contributing structure in the Barnesville National Register Historic District. It was erected by German immigrant Fred Mantz who came to Barnesville in 1890 and opened the City Bakery in a frame building that once stood next door. In 1908 he expanded the business erecting the current structure with its distinctive white glazed brick front facade.

The Mantz family operated the popular bakery until 1974. During its heyday, their popular “Sally Ann” bread and buns were sold by small groceries and general stores throughout eastern Ohio.

The owners may be reached at 740-213-5097 or theravenpickers@gmail.com .
