John Curtis Jones

John C. Jones, 83, of Beallsville, Ohio passed away Wednesday November 12, 2025 at Liza’s Place Wheeling, West Virginia. He was born June 2, 1942 in Somerton, Pennsylvania a son of the late George H. and Carolyn Fay Fornaker Jones.

John had worked as a Sheriff Deputy for Summit County Ohio and then worked for Consol Energy No. 7 Coal Mine.  He was a member of the Beallsville American Legion 768 and the VFW 5303 Auxiliary where he was the Chaplain for the Honor Guard.  He was a US Air Force Veteran and was also a Sunday school teacher.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Clara Burke Jones, sons; Warren (Sonny) and Jerry Jones, grandson; Justin M. Jones, and a great granddaughter; Raven Leigh Marie Newlen.

He is survived by his three sons; Terry Terwilliger of Woodsfield, Ohio, Wayne (Tori) Jones of Lake Placid, Florida, and Danny (Carol) Jones of Graysville, Ohio, with numerous grandkids and nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received from 11 a.m. until time of funeral service at 1 p.m. Monday November 17, 2025 at the Bauer-Turner Funeral Home 100 S. Paul St. Woodsfield, Ohio. with Anthony McSwords officiating. Full Military services will be conducted at the funeral home Monday Burial will follow in the West Union Cemetery near Sardis, Ohio.
