Charles David “Chip” Terrett
Charles David “Chip” Terrett, 66, of Barnesville, Ohio passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Saturday, November 29, 2025 at his home. He was born on May 26, 1959 in Ashtabula, Ohio to the late Joseph E. and Mary Margaret (Glass) Terrett.
Chip was raised in Erie, Pennsylvania. He attended high school at Cathedral Prep in Erie, PA, where he graduated in 1977. He studied Pharmacy at Ohio Northern University, graduating in 1982. There he played trumpet in the marching band which is how he met his wife, Sue. They married on August 20, 1983. He continued his education at The Ohio State University earning his MBA in 1985. In 1994, Chip, along with Ray Ryman, purchased Finnical Drugs, which later became Ryman & Terrett, and finally, Corner Pharmacy. He continued to own and operate the store for thirty years until its closing in 2025. He viewed his work as a calling of service and cared very deeply for his employees and customers.
Chip was an active father of five and his love for his family was central to who he was. He cherished spending time with them at family meals, holidays and trips. He was very proud of his children and would happily take every opportunity to brag about each of them.
Chip devoted much of his free time and energy to Christian ministry and service. For over 10 years, he, along with his wife Sue, led a children’s ministry at their church. He partook in many mission trips throughout the years. Beyond this, his personal generosity has touched the lives of many within the community.
In addition to his parents, Chip was preceded in death by his wife, Evangeline “Sue” (Wilson) Terrett on June 19, 2018, sister, Marcia McNeel, nephew Nathan Quinn, and brothers-in-law, Bob McNeel and Jim Quinn.
Chip is survived by his five children, Joseph Terrett of Akron, Ohio and sons, Theo and Augie, Jake (Mistie) Terrett of Barnesville, Ohio, Isaac (Mackensie Touvelle) Terrett of Wheeling, West Virginia and son, Ezra, and Mary Terrett of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and foster son, Joshua Ault of Pensacola, Florida; siblings, Mark (Teri) Terrett, Mary Beth Terrett, Joan (John Pandl) Quinn; his loving canine companion, Arson; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 3, 2025 from 5-8pm at Campbell-Plumly-Milburn Funeral Home, 319 North Chestnut Street, Barnesville, Ohio. The Funeral Service will be Thursday, December 4, 2025 at 11:00am with Father Mark Hoffman officiating. Inurnment will take place privately at Ebenezer Cemetery in Bethesda, Ohio at the convenience of the family.
